MG Hector Tomahawk EV Launched in India at ₹19.49 Lakh, Gets 517 Km Range

JSW MG Motor India has strengthened its electric vehicle portfolio with the MG Hector Tomahawk EV launched in India on August 26, 2026. The new electric SUV has an introductory ex-showroom price starting at ₹19.49 lakh and offers a claimed 517 km driving range, a 69.2 kWh battery, Level 2 ADAS and a feature-packed connected cabin.

For customers choosing Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), the Hector Tomahawk EV starts at an introductory ₹13.99 lakh plus ₹4.90 per km as battery rental for a limited number of bookings.

69.2 kWh Battery and 517 km Range

One of the biggest highlights of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV launched in India is its 69.2 kWh high-voltage MAGIC Battery. It is paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque.

MG claims a certified driving range of 517 km on a single charge, positioning the SUV for both everyday city driving and longer intercity journeys. It supports DC fast charging at up to 90 kW.

The battery has been developed with high-thermal-stability cell materials, ceramic insulation layers and high-temperature-resistant electrolyte. According to MG, it has undergone more than 2,000 bench tests and over 490 full-vehicle validation tests, along with evaluations under extreme environmental conditions. An advanced battery management system continuously monitors battery health.

MG is also offering a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, which could become an important ownership benefit for long-term EV buyers.

Large Dimensions and 5- or 7-Seat Layout

The Hector Tomahawk EV measures 4,745 mm in length and 1,770 mm in height, with a substantial 2,810 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance at the battery is rated at 230 mm.

MG will offer the electric SUV in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, broadening its appeal among family-focused EV buyers.

Exterior highlights include Beacon Lights, an illuminated MG badge, Rotor alloy wheels, sculpted bumpers and an automatic powered tailgate.

Premium Interior with 15.6-inch Display

The MG Hector Tomahawk EV launched with a feature-rich cabin finished in an Almond Brown and Carbon Black theme. Equipment includes ventilated front seats, a six-way powered driver’s seat with memory, four-way powered co-driver’s seat and a dual-pane panoramic Cockpit SkyRoof.

A segment-largest 15.6-inch HD Grand View Display dominates the dashboard, accompanied by an 8.8-inch driver information display and a 10-speaker Infinity premium audio system. The 5-seater configuration provides up to 610 litres of boot capacity.

GenAI and 80+ Connected Features

The electric SUV uses the i-SMART 3.0 connected-car platform with more than 80 smart features. It also introduces i-SWIPE gesture controls and a GenAI-powered voice assistant capable of understanding more than 30 Hinglish commands.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Digital Bluetooth Key with key sharing and over-the-air software updates further strengthen its technology package.

Level 2 ADAS and Six Airbags

Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard, Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control System, Hill Hold Control, ABS with EBD, TPMS, ISOFIX mounts and all-wheel disc brakes.

The SUV also receives a 360-degree HD camera and Level 2 ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV Price and Deliveries

With the MG Hector Tomahawk EV launched, MG has announced four variants. The Excite 7S costs ₹19.49 lakh, Exclusive 7S ₹21.99 lakh, Essence 5S ₹22.99 lakh and Essence 7S ₹23.49 lakh, all introductory ex-showroom prices.

Bookings are now open, while customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in September 2026. With a 517 km claimed range, spacious 5- and 7-seat configurations, lifetime battery warranty and extensive connected and safety technology, the Hector Tomahawk EV enters India as a strongly equipped electric family SUV.
