Excitement is building as Vingroup – Telangana sign an MoU to embark on a transformative journey that could redefine urban living in India. With a proposed USD 3 billion investment, this ambitious partnership aims to create a futuristic ecosystem blending smart cities, electric mobility, renewable energy, healthcare, education, and tourism. Spanning nearly 2,500 hectares, the project promises cutting-edge infrastructure, sustainable development, and innovative solutions that could set a new benchmark for modern urban life. What exactly will this mega initiative bring to Telangana, and how will it shape the future of smart living? Let’s dive in to explore.
A Landmark Smart City Vision
At the heart of the partnership is the development of Vinhomes Smart City, proposed on 1,080 hectares. Designed to accommodate nearly 200,000 residents, the smart city will incorporate world-class urban planning, green mobility solutions, and advanced social infrastructure. The project alone is expected to generate around 10,000 jobs, significantly boosting regional economic growth.
The smart city plan also includes schools under the Vinschool K-12 system, Vinmec multi-speciality hospitals, and a VinWonders tourism and entertainment complex, adding comprehensive social, educational, and recreational amenities.

Boost to Electric Mobility in Telangana
A major highlight of the MoU is Vingroup’s plan to introduce India’s first large-scale electric taxi fleet, powered by VinFast EVs, through its mobility arm GSM. Telangana may also see future EV manufacturing opportunities, positioning the state as a hub for advanced electric mobility solutions.
To complement this shift, Vingroup will deploy its V-Green EV charging network, supporting seamless adoption of sustainable transportation across the region.
500 MW Solar Project to Power Green Growth
Under the renewable energy vertical, Vingroup—through its subsidiary VinEnergo—will develop a 500 MW solar farm across 500 hectares. This project will help meet the increasing clean electricity demand of the upcoming smart city and EV ecosystem, reinforcing Telangana’s commitment to green infrastructure.

Strong Government Backing
The Government of Telangana has pledged full support for the initiative, including land identification and allocation, master planning coordination, accelerated project clearances, and policy incentives.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy hailed the investment as “a vote of confidence in the Telangana Rising vision”, highlighting its impact on sustainable urban development and quality of life.
Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar (IAS) echoed similar enthusiasm, recognising Vingroup’s proven expertise in large-scale urban and green infrastructure projects.
Vingroup Asia CEO Pham Sanh Chau emphasised the Group’s long-term commitment to Telangana and its goal of delivering tangible, sustainable value to local communities.
