Greaves Electric Mobility (GEML), the e-mobility arm of Greaves Cotton, has recently announced a significant move in the commercial electric vehicle sector through its partnership with Alt Mobility. This collaboration is aimed at strengthening GEML’s presence in the B2B (business-to-business) market by providing accessible, cost-effective, and sustainable electric mobility solutions for last-mile delivery and ride-hailing services across India.

Under this strategic partnership, GEML will supply its flagship electric two-wheeler, the Ampere Magnus SW S, to Alt Mobility. Alt Mobility, an electric vehicle leasing and fleet management company, will manage the procurement and leasing of these vehicles through its innovative “Drive-to-Own” model. This leasing framework allows gig riders, delivery partners, and fleet operators to access high-quality electric scooters without the burden of upfront costs, making EV adoption more affordable and scalable for commercial operations.

Currently, Alt Mobility operates more than 700 Ampere Magnus SW S vehicles across Delhi and Bengaluru, with plans to expand significantly in the coming months. The Magnus SW S has been specifically developed for B2B applications, featuring a reinforced dual-frame chassis capable of carrying up to 200 kg and IoT-enabled features that support efficient fleet management. The vehicles are manufactured at Ampere’s Ranipet facility and are designed to meet the rigorous demands of cargo and passenger movement in India’s growing logistics and last-mile delivery sectors.

To ensure uninterrupted operations, the partnership integrates support from Indofast Energy, a key energy infrastructure partner providing battery-swapping solutions. This collaboration helps maintain high operational uptime, enabling fleets to run efficiently without prolonged downtime for charging. Additionally, GEML’s extensive service network of over 500 “Ampere Care” touchpoints across India ensures prompt maintenance and spare parts availability, further supporting commercial fleet operators.

Vikas Singh, Managing Director at Greaves Electric Mobility, highlighted, “GEML is committed to strengthening India’s B2B ecosystem by delivering reliable EV solutions to fleet operators and riders. Through dependable vehicles, innovative leasing options, and robust service support, we aim to drive the future of clean and sustainable last-mile mobility.”

The Greaves Electric partnership with Alt Mobility exemplifies a strategic shift in India’s EV market—from selling vehicles individually to offering comprehensive, end-to-end commercial mobility solutions. By addressing key adoption barriers like affordability, maintenance, and energy infrastructure, this collaboration is set to accelerate the electrification of last-mile logistics and urban transport, making EVs a viable option for businesses across high-demand urban corridors.
