Romania is set to take a significant step toward cleaner transportation as PPC Blue and Dedeman Partner have announced a major partnership to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the country. The initiative will see the installation and operation of more than 600 EV charging points at Dedeman’s nationwide retail and logistics network, creating one of Romania’s largest integrated public charging systems.
The project is expected to deliver a total installed charging capacity of more than 30 MW, making EV charging more accessible for both private motorists and commercial fleet operators.

Nationwide Rollout Across Retail Stores and Logistics Centers
Under the agreement, PPC Blue and Dedeman Partner will deploy charging stations at more than 60 Dedeman retail stores, including existing and future locations. The rollout will also cover two Dedeman logistics warehouses, where dedicated charging infrastructure will be installed for electric heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and electric trucks.
As part of the partnership, approximately 60 existing charging points already operating at Dedeman locations will be integrated into the PPC Blue mobile application. This will provide EV drivers with a unified platform to locate, access, and manage charging sessions more conveniently.
Deployment Timeline and Priority Regions
The project has been designed to improve EV infrastructure in areas where public charging stations remain limited.
The first phase of installations will begin in December 2026, covering the cities of Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Roman, Alexandria, Târgu Jiu, and Onești. These locations have been selected to strengthen charging availability in underserved communities.
By the end of 2026, charging stations are expected to be operational at 21 Dedeman stores, with the long-term objective of completing installations across all designated retail locations and logistics facilities nationwide.
Supporting Romania’s Electric Mobility Transition
PPC Blue Romania, a subsidiary of the Greece-based PPC Group, already operates a network of more than 1,100 EV charging points across every Romanian county. The existing network provides a combined installed capacity exceeding 36 MW.
The new collaboration with Dedeman will substantially expand this footprint while placing charging stations in high-traffic retail destinations where customers already shop. This approach allows EV owners to conveniently charge their vehicles during everyday activities, reducing range anxiety and encouraging wider EV adoption.
Leadership Highlights Long-Term Sustainability Goals
Speaking about the initiative, Andreea-Dana Popescu, General Manager of PPC Blue Romania, said that charging an electric vehicle should be as simple as visiting a retail store. She emphasized the company’s goal of ensuring that EV drivers across Romania have easy access to charging stations regardless of where they live.
Dragoș Pavăl, President of Dedeman, described the partnership as a natural step toward supporting sustainable mobility. He noted that the retailer continues to invest in long-term projects focused on customer convenience, community development, and environmental protection.
A Major Boost for Romania’s EV Infrastructure
The collaboration between PPC Blue and Dedeman Partner represents one of Romania’s most ambitious EV infrastructure projects to date. By combining a nationwide retail network with an experienced charging operator, the partnership will significantly improve charging accessibility for passenger vehicles and commercial fleets alike.
As Romania’s electric vehicle market continues to grow, this large-scale investment is expected to accelerate the country’s transition toward cleaner transportation while making public charging more reliable, convenient, and widely available.
