Ampere Partners with Muthoot Capital to strengthen electric vehicle adoption in India by introducing affordable and flexible financing solutions for customers purchasing Ampere electric scooters. The strategic collaboration between Greaves Electric Mobility Limited (GEML) and Muthoot Capital Services Limited aims to reduce the financial barriers associated with EV ownership while making electric mobility more accessible across metropolitan cities, Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, and rural India.

Affordable EV Financing for Every Type of Buyer

The partnership combines Ampere’s expanding electric scooter portfolio with Muthoot Capital’s well-established retail financing network to provide customized loan options for a wide range of customers. These financing solutions will be available across Ampere’s complete electric scooter lineup, including newer models such as the Reo VYB.

Whether buyers are salaried professionals, self-employed individuals, gig economy workers, entrepreneurs, or small business owners, the new financing plans are designed to match different income patterns. Flexible EMI structures and customer-friendly repayment options are expected to simplify the ownership journey while encouraging more consumers to switch to electric mobility.

Nationwide Dealer Network and Digital Loan Approval

Ampere Partners with Muthoot Capital to deliver financing through more than 500 integrated dealer touchpoints across India using Muthoot Capital’s technology-enabled lending platform. Customers can visit participating Ampere dealerships, select their preferred electric scooter, customise an EMI plan based on their earnings, and complete the loan application through a fast digital approval process.

The initiative is expected to particularly benefit buyers in emerging markets, where high upfront vehicle costs remain one of the biggest challenges to EV adoption.

Leadership Highlights Long-Term Vision

Manoj MP, Chief Business Officer of Greaves Electric Mobility, said the collaboration reinforces Ampere’s commitment to making electric mobility accessible, practical, and affordable. He noted that financing plays a crucial role in encouraging customers to transition to electric vehicles, while the partnership will deliver seamless ownership solutions supported by trusted financial services.

Mathews Markose, Chief Executive Officer of Muthoot Capital Services Limited, stated that the company has consistently focused on responsible mobility financing across India. He added that affordable financing will become increasingly important as the country accelerates its shift towards cleaner transportation. According to him, the partnership combines the strengths of two established organizations to expand sustainable mobility beyond major urban centers.

Strategic Expansion Supports India’s EV Growth

Ampere Partners with Muthoot Capital under a Preferred Financer Agreement that also strengthens Muthoot Capital’s existing co-lending relationship with Greaves Finance (evfin), which has scaled up to ₹245 crore and represents nearly 49% of its partner portfolio.

The announcement comes as Ampere has crossed more than four million cumulative electric two-wheelers manufactured and sold, while Greaves Electric Mobility has also secured a ₹331.12 crore capital infusion to support future growth and production expansion. Ampere Partners with Muthoot Capital marks another important step towards making electric scooters financially accessible, supporting livelihoods, and accelerating India’s transition to sustainable transportation.
