In a strategic move to strengthen its electric mobility portfolio, JSW MG Motor India launches the Windsor EV Commute variant in April 2026. This new entry-level model is specifically tailored for commercial use, targeting taxi operators like Ola, Uber, and corporate fleet services. Priced at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom), it is about ₹61,000 more affordable than the earlier base ‘Excite’ variant, making it a cost-effective choice for high-usage buyers.
Powertrain, Range & Charging
The JSW MG Motor India launches the Windsor EV Commute variant with a reliable 38 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted motor delivering 136 PS and 200 Nm torque. It offers an ARAI-certified range of 332 km, suitable for daily city commutes. Charging options include 45 kW DC fast charging (20–80% in just 45 minutes) and 7.4 kW AC charging, which fully charges the battery in around 7 hours.

Exterior & Interior Highlights
This variant focuses on practicality over premium styling. It comes with 17-inch steel wheels, LED projector headlamps, and flush door handles. Inside, the cabin features an all-black theme with gold accents and fabric upholstery, designed for durability in commercial use.
Features & Comfort
Unlike higher trims, the infotainment system is simplified to a basic FM radio with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. However, comfort is maintained with 135-degree reclining rear seats, rear AC vents, and manual air conditioning—ideal for passenger convenience.
Safety & Pricing Options
Safety remains a priority, as the JSW MG Motor India launches the Windsor EV Commute variant with six airbags, disc brakes on all wheels, hill-descent control, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
It is also offered under a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, reducing upfront costs for fleet operators. While primarily designed for commercial buyers, it may also be available for private registration.
Final Take
With affordability, efficiency, and essential features, JSW MG Motor India launches the Windsor EV Commute variant as a practical solution for India’s growing EV fleet segment.
