The Government of Telangana is taking a major step toward strengthening electric mobility by developing a centralized, real-time dashboard to map and monitor EV charging infrastructure. Guided by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, the initiative is designed to boost EV adoption by creating a transparent, accessible, and efficient charging network across both urban and rural regions. With this move, Telangana unveils a live dashboard as a critical digital tool for the state’s clean mobility future.
Smart Features to Empower EV Users and Authorities
The proposed platform will offer a wide range of user-friendly and administrative features. At its core, the dashboard will provide real-time mapping of EV charging stations, enabling commuters to easily locate nearby facilities. Additionally, authorities will be able to track the progress of new charging station installations and identify infrastructure gaps across different regions.
Another key highlight is operational transparency. The system will monitor deployment activities in real time, ensuring accountability in the establishment of EV charging centers. It is also expected to display charging port availability and technical specifications, making it a comprehensive solution for both users and planners. This is a significant milestone as Telangana unveils a live dashboard to modernize EV infrastructure management.
Strategic Policy and Implementation Roadmap
The Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation has been designated as the nodal agency for executing this initiative. The state government is also planning to adopt a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to accelerate infrastructure expansion by attracting private investments.
A new policy is in the works that will make EV charging points mandatory in the basements of apartment buildings, ensuring convenient home charging for residents. Telangana has set ambitious targets to scale up its infrastructure, aiming for 6,000 public charging stations by 2030 and 12,000 by 2035. Currently, the state has over 1,030 stations, with nearly 600 located in Hyderabad. These efforts highlight how Telangana unveils a live dashboard as part of a broader EV ecosystem strategy.
Advanced Technical Integration for Seamless Experience
The dashboard is expected to integrate with the TSEV Mobile App, allowing users to locate stations, check availability, and manage payments seamlessly. To ensure interoperability, Charge Point Operators will be required to adopt standardized communication protocols like OCPI 2.1.
Furthermore, the system will leverage datasets such as the Telangana EV Charging Stations Electricity Consumption Dataset to analyze energy usage and load patterns. This data-driven approach will help optimize infrastructure planning and efficiency.
