Yamaha is accelerating its electric mobility plans after Yamaha patents a new electric scooter in Japan, revealing a production-ready model with a premium design, keyless operation, and removable battery technology. Although the company has not officially confirmed its launch plans, the patent strongly indicates that the scooter is being prepared for global markets, including India. Industry expectations suggest it could arrive between late 2026 and early 2027 as a premium urban electric scooter.
Sporty Design with Everyday Practicality
As Yamaha patents a new electric scooter in Japan, the design images reveal a modern and sporty appearance with sharp body panels and angular styling. The front apron features dual LED headlights paired with a distinctive V-shaped LED Daytime Running Light (DRL), giving the scooter a futuristic identity.
The scooter is designed for daily commuting with a wide, long single-piece seat for improved comfort. It also gets a flat floorboard that offers extra legroom and space to carry small bags or luggage. Riding on 12-inch alloy wheels, the scooter is equipped with disc brakes at both the front and rear, enhancing braking performance and rider safety.

The patent images suggest that Yamaha’s upcoming electric scooter will be packed with premium technology. A rectangular fully digital instrument display is visible, and the scooter is expected to support smartphone connectivity for navigation, ride information, and notifications.
