Pioneering Long-Distance EV Travel

ThunderPlus, one of India’s fastest-growing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure companies, is demonstrating that long-distance EV travel is no longer a gamble. With its first-of-its-kind electric mobility road journey across Andhra Pradesh, ThunderPlus Boosts EV Travel Confidence with AP Road Trip by showcasing a robust, ultra-fast charging network designed for real-world usability. The Journey: Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam

Led by Rajeev YSR, Executive Director & CEO of ThunderPlus, the journey spans Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam, covering key cities including Suryapet, Vijayawada (Gollapudi), Nallajerla (Eluru), and Vizag. The trip relies exclusively on ThunderPlus charging stations, highlighting ultra-fast infrastructure along the corridor. Rajeev emphasizes, “This journey is not about proving whether EVs can travel long distances—that debate is over. It’s about proving that the charging infrastructure is up to the task.”

Ultra-Fast Charging Hubs Across Andhra Pradesh

The road trip features strategically placed, high-capacity charging hubs, including:

  • Hyderabad: 480 kW hub for rapid top-ups.
  • Suryapet: 560 kW ultra-fast charging near Hotel Logili.
  • Vijayawada (Gollapudi): 500 kW station near CA Convention Centre.
  • Nallajerla (Eluru) & Visakhapatnam Beach Road: 240 kW chargers for key urban and coastal points.

These stations demonstrate opportunity charging, allowing vehicles to reach 80% charge in just 20 minutes, making long-distance EV travel practical, efficient, and stress-free.

Redefining Highway EV Infrastructure

ThunderPlus Strengthens EV Road Travel by showing that charging stations cannot operate in isolation. Integrated hubs at hotels, rest areas, and recreational facilities allow travelers to utilize charging time productively. With rising EV battery capacity, the demand has shifted to 120 kW, 240 kW, and higher-capacity chargers, which are now essential for intercity travel and commercial fleet operations.

Connected, Reliable, and Scalable Network

ThunderPlus stations are engineered for reliability, high uptime, and fleet readiness. Digital tools simplify station discovery, payments, and support, ensuring stress-free travel. From isolated installations, EV charging has evolved into a connected backbone supporting tourism, logistics, and long-distance mobility.

Capturing Real-World EV Experiences

The road trip is documented through blogs, videos, and photographs, highlighting charging experiences, halt durations, consumer sentiment, and how reliable infrastructure influences travel decisions. Plans are underway to expand similar high-speed corridors to Bhubaneswar, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

Through this initiative, ThunderPlus Boosts EV Travel Confidence with AP Road Trip, reflecting a “confidence-first infrastructure” philosophy that is quietly shaping India’s electric mobility future.
