The New Skoda Epiq EV, revealed globally, marks an important step in the company’s electric vehicle expansion plans. Skoda has unveiled the Epiq as its most affordable electric SUV for global markets, combining compact dimensions with practical cabin space, premium features and an impressive driving range of up to 440 km.
What makes the Epiq stand out is that it avoids the usual compromises associated with small SUVs. Despite its compact footprint, the SUV offers a spacious cabin, large boot space, and advanced technology features aimed at modern urban buyers.
The Epiq is also the first production model to fully adopt Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language, which is expected to shape future Skoda SUVs.

Fresh Modern Design With SUV Character
The exterior design of the Epiq looks futuristic yet practical. Instead of a traditional grille, the SUV gets a glossy black “Tech Deck” front fascia that gives it a clean EV identity. Slim T-shaped LED lighting elements add a sharp modern touch.
The bumper features chunky styling along with silver skid plate elements, while black body cladding and aerodynamic alloy wheels give the SUV a rugged stance.
Skoda has also focused heavily on aerodynamics to improve efficiency. Key highlights include:
- Drag coefficient of 0.275
- Active cooling shutters
- Optimised underbody panels
- Aero-focused wheel design
- Roof spoiler elements
Even with its compact size, the proportions appear balanced and suitable for city driving as well as highway use.
Dimensions And Practical Cabin Space
The Epiq measures 4,171 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width and 1,581 mm in height, while the wheelbase stands at 2,601 mm.
One of the strongest highlights of the SUV is its practicality. It offers a massive 475-liter boot space, which is highly impressive for a compact electric SUV. There is also a 25-liter front storage compartment along with several smart storage areas inside the cabin.
The New Skoda Epiq EV, revealed globally, clearly targets families looking for a practical and easy-to-use urban electric SUV.
Interior Loaded With Technology
Inside, the cabin follows a minimalist yet functional layout. Unlike many modern EVs that rely entirely on touch controls, Skoda has retained physical rotary controls for essential functions.
The dashboard includes:
- 13-inch infotainment touchscreen
- Compact digital driver display
- Ambient lighting
- Floating centre console
- Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
The SUV also supports wireless phone charging with a cooling function, connected car technology, and digital key access through the MySkoda app.
Depending on the variant, buyers can also get the following:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Canton sound system
- Dual-zone climate control
- Heated seats
- Multiple cabin themes
Skoda has used recycled and animal-free materials inside the cabin, including upholstery made from recycled polyester fibers.
Battery, Range, and Charging
The Epiq is built on Volkswagen Group’s latest MEB+ platform and uses a front-wheel-drive setup.
Globally, three variants will be offered:
- Epiq 35
- Epiq 40
- Epiq 55
Lower variants use a 38.5 kWh battery pack producing either 114 bhp or 133 bhp with 267 Nm of torque. These versions deliver a claimed range of around 310 km.
The top-spec Epiq 55 gets a larger 55 kWh battery pack producing 208 bhp and 290 Nm of torque. This version offers up to 440 km claimed range along with a top speed of 160 km/h.
Fast charging is another major highlight:
- 10 to 80 percent charging in around 24 minutes
- 11 kW AC charging support
- Bidirectional charging capability
The SUV also supports one-pedal driving through B mode for easier city driving.
Advanced Safety Features
Safety equipment in the Epiq is quite extensive for its segment. Standard and optional features include:
- Seven airbags
- Front Assist
- Lane Assist
- Side Assist
- Traffic Sign Recognition
- 360-degree camera
- Travel Assist 3.0
Selected versions also get remote parking and traffic light response technology.
India Launch Possibility And Expected Rivals
There is currently no official confirmation regarding an India launch. However, the New Skoda Epiq EV Revealed Globally could fit well into India’s growing compact electric SUV market.
Its 4.1-meter size, 475-liter boot, and 440 km range make it highly suitable for Indian buyers looking for practical EVs with premium appeal.
However, pricing will be the biggest challenge. If imported as a CBU, the SUV could cost over ₹35 lakh. Local manufacturing would be essential to achieve a competitive price range of around ₹21 lakh to ₹26 lakh.
