UP Accelerates EV Infrastructure at a time when Uttar Pradesh is preparing for one of its biggest transformation projects ahead of the Jewar Airport launch. From electric buses and massive charging networks to high-speed expressways and industrial corridors, the state is rapidly building a future-ready transport ecosystem. The government’s ambitious push toward clean mobility and smarter connectivity is expected to reshape travel, logistics, and investment opportunities across the region.
But how will these mega projects impact daily commuters, businesses, and the EV industry in India? The upcoming developments around Noida International Airport could redefine Uttar Pradesh as a major hub for sustainable mobility and economic growth.
UP Accelerates EV Infrastructure Before Jewar Airport Operations
To ensure smooth public transportation ahead of the airport’s expected operations from June 15, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to deploy 110 electric buses in the first phase for direct connectivity to the Noida International Airport. The move is expected to improve eco-friendly mobility and reduce traffic congestion in the region.

During the fourth meeting of the State Transformation Commission, the Chief Minister reviewed plans to operate nearly 500 electric buses across Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region. Officials have been instructed to fully strengthen the public transport network before commercial flight services begin.
The initiative reflects how UP Accelerates EV Infrastructure to support sustainable urban mobility and future-ready transportation systems.
EV Charging Network Expansion Across Uttar Pradesh
The state government is also focusing heavily on expanding EV charging infrastructure. According to officials, Uttar Pradesh currently has around 15.5 lakh registered electric vehicles, making it one of the leading EV markets in India.
To support this growing EV ecosystem, the government has set a target of establishing 10,000 EV charging stations by 2030. At present, nearly 2,500 charging stations are already operational across the state. The expansion of charging facilities is expected to encourage faster adoption of electric vehicles and improve long-distance EV travel.
Experts believe the state’s aggressive push shows how UP accelerates EV Infrastructure while creating a cleaner and more sustainable transport ecosystem.
Expressway Projects to Boost Industry and Investment
Alongside EV mobility, Uttar Pradesh is speeding up major expressway projects to improve logistics and industrial connectivity. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that better road infrastructure will generate fresh opportunities for industrial development, investment, and employment.
Several key projects are currently under fast-track development, including:
- Farrukhabad Link Expressway, where nearly 55% land acquisition has already been completed
- Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway
- Jewar Link Expressway
- Jhansi Link Expressway
- Meerut-Haridwar Expressway, for which alignment approval has been granted
Officials have been directed to complete land acquisition and exchange-related work for these projects by the end of June.
Logistics, Defense, and Export Hubs Gain Momentum
The state is also witnessing rapid development in logistics and industrial corridors linked to the Jewar Airport region. Around 301 hectares out of 323 hectares have already been acquired for the proposed Multi-Modal Logistic Hub, while 144 hectares out of 200 hectares have been secured for the Multi-Modal Transport Hub.
In the Aligarh Defense Node, Icons Hindustan Aerospace and Defense Systems has proposed an investment of INR 125 crore, further strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s defense manufacturing ambitions.
Additionally, plans are progressing for a 50-acre Agriculture Export Hub near Jewar Airport and a 60-acre Aqua Bridge project in Unnao aimed at connecting fisheries, packaging, and food processing industries with global export markets.
The government has also emphasized simplifying building approval procedures under industrial development authorities to ensure a transparent, investment-friendly, and time-bound system. These reforms further highlight how UP accelerates EV Infrastructure and integrated industrial development to position itself as a major economic and mobility hub in India.
