India’s electric two-wheeler market is preparing for another major shake-up as Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive unveils its next-generation 100V technology. Following the launch of its powerful X-47 Venom electric motorcycle, the company is accelerating its expansion into electric scooters, affordable motorcycles, and advanced mobility solutions. With longer battery range, faster charging, and improved efficiency, its new architecture could significantly strengthen its competitive position. Ultraviolette Plans Four VX100-Based EVs over the next 12 months, marking an ambitious growth strategy supported by substantial manufacturing investments, international expansion, and a wider retail network targeting India’s rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.

What Is Ultraviolette Planning?

Ultraviolette intends to introduce four products using its new VX100 100V architecture within 12 months. The X-47 Venom is the first vehicle on the platform, while the Shockwave motorcycle and Tesseract scooter are expected in early 2027. The company has not confirmed the complete four-product lineup or whether the Venom counts toward it.

Four New EVs: Product Roadmap Revealed

Ultraviolette Plans Four VX100-Based EVs as it moves beyond premium performance motorcycles.

  • X-47 Venom: Newly launched crossover motorcycle designed for city commuting, touring, and occasional off-road riding.
  • Shockwave: Lightweight street-and-dirt electric motorcycle, previously announced at ₹1.75 lakh.
  • Tesseract: Premium electric scooter, earlier announced at ₹1.45 lakh, with deliveries targeted for 2027.
  • Fourth product: Yet to be officially identified; an updated F77 motorcycle is also under development.

Shockwave and Tesseract are expected in Q1 2027, following redesigns to accommodate the new architecture.

VX100 Technology: More Range, Faster Charging

Developed over approximately three years, the VX100 platform integrates redesigned batteries, electric motors, controllers, and vehicle electronics.

Ultraviolette claims improvements in energy density, cooling efficiency, charging performance, and component weight.

X-47 Venom key specifications:

  • Battery options: 7.5 kWh and 11 kWh
  • Claimed IDC range: 227 km and 343 km
  • Motor output: 30 kW (40 hp)
  • Top speed: 155 km/h
  • Acceleration: 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds
  • DC fast charging: Up to 12 kW
  • Kerb weight: 180–195 kg
  • Safety technology: Radar-based rider assistance

The introductory starting price is ₹2.65 lakh for the first 5,000 customers, with regular prices starting at ₹3 lakh. Deliveries begin in November 2026, followed by a European debut at EICMA in Milan.

₹1,000 Crore Investment Fuels Expansion

Ultraviolette Plans Four VX100-Based EVs alongside significant manufacturing expansion.

The company proposes investing ₹1,000 crore over five years, allocating ₹800 crore toward a Hosur factory and ₹200 crore toward existing operations.

Key expansion targets include:

  • Manufacturing capacity approaching 300,000 units annually by mid-2027, with longer-term potential reaching 500,000.
  • Approximately 100 Indian showrooms by early 2027.
  • Monthly sales approaching 10,000 vehicles by October 2027.
  • Exports contributing 20–25% of sales within three years.

The expansion follows an $85 million funding round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures.

Why This Matters for India’s EV Market

Ultraviolette registered 3,200 motorcycles through August 12, 2026, exceeding its entire 2025 sales.

Ultraviolette plans to have Four VX100-Based EVs reach more customer segments while spreading development costs across a shared architecture.

If successfully executed, this strategy could strengthen India’s premium electric two-wheeler industry and accelerate international growth.
