In a landmark move for India’s electric logistics sector, BillionE Mobility receives India’s Largest EV Truck Delivery from Tata, marking a major milestone in the country’s transition toward zero-emission freight transportation. The company has taken delivery of the first batch of electric prime movers—Prima E.55S—from Tata Motors, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable logistics.

Massive Fleet Expansion Underway

BillionE Mobility, a fast-growing electric mobility-as-a-service provider, has already begun integrating these electric trucks into its heavy-duty fleet. Following the initial delivery of 30 units in Mumbai, the company has placed an additional order for 250 trucks, signaling strong confidence in electric freight solutions. With this move, BillionE Mobility receives India’s Largest EV Truck Delivery from Tata and sets the stage for rapid expansion.

The company aims to scale its fleet to 1,500 heavy-duty electric trucks within the next 6 to 18 months. Since its launch in 2024, BillionE Mobility has already achieved over 3 million green kilometers with more than 125 EV trucks, demonstrating both operational efficiency and market readiness.

Deployment Across Key Freight Corridors

The newly inducted fleet will be deployed in phases across major logistics routes, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana, and Delhi NCR. These trucks will primarily transport industrial goods such as steel, cement, and related materials, supporting large-scale supply chains while reducing emissions.

Advanced Technology: Tata Prima E.55S

At the heart of this development is the Tata Prima E.55S, a cutting-edge electric truck designed for long-haul operations. It features a 450 kWh battery pack—the largest in its category—offering a range of up to 350 km on a single charge. The truck also supports dual-gun fast charging, enabling significant charging in about 1.5 hours.

Performance is enhanced by a high-powered integrated e-axle, a 3-speed auto-shift transmission, and a motor delivering up to 470 kW of power. Safety is equally prioritized with features like driver monitoring systems, lane departure warnings, electronic braking, and optional advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Strategic Partnership Driving Change

A key factor behind this initiative is BillionE’s collaboration with its affiliate, CHARGE ZONE, which is developing charging infrastructure along major freight routes. This integrated ecosystem—combining advanced vehicles and reliable charging—aims to achieve total cost of ownership parity with diesel trucks.

With this milestone, BillionE Mobility receives India’s Largest EV Truck Delivery from Tata, once again underscoring its leadership in clean logistics and paving the way for a greener, more efficient freight ecosystem in India.
