Mahindra has taken a major step toward strengthening India’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure by inaugurating its first dealership-based 180 kW ultrafast EV charging station in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The newly launched Charge_IN ultrafast charger is now operational at the MGB Mobiles dealership on NH-44, marking the beginning of Mahindra’s ambitious plan to integrate high-speed charging directly within its dealership network.
This strategic move signals Mahindra’s growing commitment to building a reliable, accessible, and fast EV charging ecosystem across the country. The Anantapur installation serves as the first milestone in a wider national rollout aimed at making ultrafast charging more convenient for EV owners, especially on long-distance highway routes.

Charger Specifications and Key Features
The new charging station offers a power output of 180 kW, enabling much faster charging compared to conventional chargers. It is specifically designed to charge compatible Mahindra electric SUVs such as the XEV 9e and BE 6 from 20% to 80% in just about 20 minutes. This rapid charging capability significantly reduces waiting time and makes EV travel more practical for daily users as well as highway commuters.
Importantly, the charger is open to all compatible EV brands, not just Mahindra vehicles. Users can access the facility through the “Charge_IN by Mahindra” app as well as other major EV charging aggregator platforms. To ensure reliability, Mahindra is also offering 24×7 on-ground support at this location—an essential factor in boosting user confidence and eliminating charging anxiety.
Expansion Plans and National Vision
The Anantapur charger is just the first step in Mahindra’s larger infrastructure vision. Under its planned expansion, the company aims to establish 250 such ultrafast charging stations with over 1,000 charging points across India by the end of 2027. These stations will be strategically located along major highways and high-traffic areas, often alongside amenities like restaurants and cafes to make them ideal stopping points for travelers.
This initiative also strengthens Mahindra’s existing Charge_IN ecosystem, which already includes 250 highway fast-charging stations announced earlier. By combining sales, service, and high-speed charging at dealership locations, Mahindra is working toward creating a unified EV ownership experience under one roof.
Driving India’s EV Future
Although Mahindra has not disclosed the exact number of dealerships that will receive similar installations or a fixed rollout timeline, this launch clearly demonstrates the brand’s commitment to investing in India’s EV infrastructure. With faster charging, reliable support, and strategic placement, Mahindra’s dealership-based ultrafast chargers are set to play a key role in accelerating electric mobility adoption across the country.
