Electric Vehicles (EVs): A Bold New Beginning
Yamaha is set to make its EV debut in India with two electric scooters — Aerox-E and EC-06, scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2026.
Yamaha Aerox-E
The Aerox-E is designed as a performance-oriented electric maxi-scooter, catering to riders who seek both thrill and style. It comes equipped with dual detachable 3 kWh lithium-ion batteries, offering a claimed range of 106 km per charge. The scooter features a 9.4 kW peak motor, disc brakes, single-channel ABS, and a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, delivering a premium tech-driven experience.
Yamaha EC-06
The EC-06, on the other hand, targets urban commuters with practicality and efficiency in mind. Powered by a fixed 4 kWh battery, it boasts an impressive IDC-claimed range of 160 km and a top speed of 90 km/h. With its 4.5 kW continuous (6.7 kW peak) motor, disc brakes, ABS, and integrated telematics, the EC-06 blends performance with advanced connectivity features.
ICE Models: Expanding the Premium and Deluxe Range
Apart from EVs, Yamaha will introduce eight internal combustion engine (ICE) models, covering both the premium and deluxe segments. Two of these — the XSR155 and FZ-RAVE — have already hit the Indian roads.
- Yamaha XSR155: A neo-retro roadster featuring a 155cc liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), built on a Deltabox frame with USD forks and dual-channel ABS.
- Yamaha FZ-RAVE: A stylish streetfighter powered by a 149cc air-cooled engine, expanding Yamaha’s appeal in the mid-range market.
Big Bikes and CBU Models on the Horizon
Yamaha also plans to strengthen its big bike lineup through CBU (Completely Built Unit) imports. Expected additions include the NMAX 155, MT-07, YZF-R7, YZF-R9, Tenere 700, and MT-09 — models that cater to India’s growing community of premium motorcycle enthusiasts.
With this ambitious lineup, Yamaha aims to redefine mobility across both EV and ICE segments, offering riders a diverse range of performance, technology, and style by 2026.
