Kinetic Green launches E-Luna Prime: Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Limited, a leading manufacturer of electric two- and three-wheelers in India, has unveiled its latest offering, the E-Luna Prime, marking the company’s entry into the commuter motorcycle segment. Building on the success of the E-Luna platform, which has already sold over 25,000 units since its launch, the E-Luna Prime promises to deliver affordable, practical, and sustainable mobility for India’s daily commuters.

Price and Variants

The E-Luna Prime is priced at ₹82,490 ex-showroom, with the on-road price in Delhi estimated at ₹86,401. It is available in two variants: the standard range offering 110 km per charge and the long-range version with 140 km per charge, catering to a variety of commuting needs. Buyers can choose from six vibrant colour options through Kinetic Green’s extensive dealership network, which spans over 300 locations across India.

Design and Utility

The E-Luna Prime features a rugged yet modern design aimed at utility and comfort. Its 16-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tires ensure durability and stability, while the steel chassis provides a strong frame for everyday use. The vehicle comes with a single sporty seat and a removable pillion seat that can be converted into additional cargo space. A spacious front-loading area allows for carrying small goods, making the E-Luna Prime suitable for both personal and business-related commuting.

Performance and Technology

Under the hood, the E-Luna Prime is powered by a 2.2 kW BLDC hub motor, capable of reaching a top speed of 50 km/h. The 2.3 kWh lithium-ion battery, rated IP67, takes about 4–5 hours to fully charge using a standard 220V, 15A socket. The electric scooter is equipped with drum brakes on both wheels, supported by a Combi Braking System (CBS), along with telescopic front suspension and dual hydraulic rear shock absorbers, ensuring a smooth and safe ride.

The E-Luna Prime also comes with modern tech features, including a fully digital colour instrument cluster, LED headlamps and turn indicators, a USB charging port, side stand sensor, low battery indicator, and a hazard warning light, enhancing convenience and safety for daily use.

Cost Efficiency and Savings

One of the most compelling advantages of the E-Luna Prime is its low ownership cost. Kinetic Green estimates the monthly ownership cost at around ₹2,500, covering EMI and running expenses. The running cost is as low as 10 paise per kilometre, which could lead to annual savings of up to ₹60,000 compared to petrol-powered 100cc or 110cc motorcycles. This makes the E-Luna Prime an attractive option for cost-conscious commuters seeking sustainable mobility.

Company Vision and Expansion

Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, emphasized that the E-Luna Prime addresses the growing demand for affordable, practical two-wheelers in India. The company is not only strengthening its domestic presence but has also entered a joint venture with Tonino Lamborghini, Italy, to manufacture electric golf and lifestyle carts near Pune. Additionally, Kinetic Green recently secured $25 million in Series A funding from Greater Pacific Capital, UK, reinforcing its growth trajectory.

With its combination of affordability, utility, and modern electric mobility, the Kinetic Green E-Luna Prime is set to redefine commuting for Indian riders, offering an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional petrol motorcycles.
