A partnership between home charger provider Andersen EV and fleet electrification platform Rightcharge aims to make reimbursing company-car drivers more accurate. The Andersen EV and Rightcharge partner integration connects home chargers with Rightcharge’s payment system, eliminating manual expense claims for EV charging.
How Will the Platform Work?
When an employee charges a company EV at home, the Andersen charger records the session and sends charging data to Rightcharge. The platform calculates the exact cost using the driver’s actual electricity tariff instead of estimates.
Once calculated, the reimbursement is paid directly into the driver’s energy account. This automated process is designed to prevent underpayments, overpayments, and time-consuming expense submissions, making home charging more convenient for employees and easier for businesses to manage.
Better Visibility and Consolidated Billing
The Andersen EV and Rightcharge partner platform also gives fleet operators access to a unified dashboard showing charging activity, expenditure, and carbon data. Employers can monitor home charging costs across their electric fleets.
Rightcharge then consolidates home charging payments into one HMRC-compliant monthly bill. This structure can reduce administrative work, improve payment accuracy, and simplify reporting for fleet departments.
Why Does the Partnership Matter?
Home charging is generally more convenient and cost-effective than relying on public infrastructure. Rightcharge data indicates that public charging can cost three times more per unit of electricity. By making domestic charging reimbursement straightforward, the integration could encourage more company-car drivers to charge at home and help employers control fleet operating costs.
Andersen EV CEO David Martell said reclaiming domestic charging expenses is often complicated, despite home charging being crucial to convenient and affordable electric company-car use. He said the collaboration removes a major barrier for drivers while helping businesses support employees more efficiently.
Freddie Winterbotham, head of strategic partnerships at Rightcharge, said Andersen strengthens the platform’s expanding range of integrated chargers, with both companies focused on making home charging easier for fleets and drivers.
Who Can Access the Service?
The Andersen EV and Rightcharge partner reimbursement service is now available to new and existing Andersen customers whose employers use the Rightcharge fleet platform. The launch also supports Rightcharge’s wider European growth strategy, following its recognition as a recommended partner in the Visa Ready for Fleet programme.
