Volvo EX30 Electric SUV Launched in India: Volvo Cars India has officially launched the much-awaited Volvo EX30 electric SUV in the Indian market, priced at an attractive ₹39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This introductory festive price is available only for customers who reserve the SUV by October 19, 2025. Post this date, the EX30 will retail at ₹41 lakh (ex-showroom), with deliveries set to begin in the first week of November 2025.

Speaking at the launch, Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India, emphasized that the EX30 will help redefine luxury EV ownership in India. “We believe this model will appeal to a new generation of innovators and achievers who value power, design, and sustainable luxury,” he said.

Volvo’s Smallest and Most Affordable Luxury EV

The EX30 is now the entry-level Volvo in India, sitting below the EX40 (previously XC40 Recharge). Despite its compact dimensions, the EX30 comes packed with technology, performance, and luxury. It also becomes the third EV in Volvo’s India line-up, and notably, the brand’s most affordable electric offering.

The SUV is locally assembled at Volvo’s Hosakote plant in Bengaluru, further strengthening the company’s EV roadmap for India.

Powertrain, Range, and Performance

Under the hood, the Volvo EX30 houses a 69 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a single rear-mounted motor. This setup delivers:

  • 272 hp (268 bhp) of power
  • 343 Nm of peak torque
  • 0-100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds
  • Electronically limited top speed of 180 km/h

On a single charge, the SUV offers a WLTP-certified range of 480 km, making it practical for both city commutes and long drives.

Sustainable Design with Scandinavian Elegance

In terms of design, the EX30 stays true to Volvo’s Scandinavian minimalism. It features the brand’s signature Thor’s Hammer LED headlamps, a sleek closed-off grille, and sharp LED taillights. The SUV rides on stylish 19-inch Aero wheels that enhance aerodynamics.

What sets the EX30 apart is its strong focus on sustainability. Much of the interior uses recycled and renewable materials, including denim scraps, PET bottles, aluminum, and PVC pipes. Volvo also claims that the EX30 has the lowest carbon footprint among all its fully electric models.

Tech, Features, and Safety

The EX30 may be Volvo’s smallest SUV, but it comes loaded with technology and luxury. Key highlights include:

  • 12.3-inch vertically stacked touchscreen with Google built in
  • Digital Key Plus & NFC Smart Card Key
  • 1040W Harman Kardon sound system
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control
  • 360° camera & Park Pilot Assist

For safety, the EX30 carries Volvo’s Safe Space Technology, including Post-Impact Braking, Auto Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Keeping Aid, BLIS, and multiple airbags. It also boasts a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, reinforcing Volvo’s reputation for class-leading safety.

Warranty and Ownership Benefits

To make ownership hassle-free, Volvo offers:

  • 3 years of warranty, service, and roadside assistance
  • 8-year warranty on the battery

This comprehensive package adds to the EX30’s value proposition in the premium EV space.

Market Positioning

Priced at ₹39.99 lakh (introductory), the EX30 undercuts several luxury EV rivals, including the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BYD Sealion 7. With its aggressive pricing, sustainable luxury, and top-tier performance, the EX30 is expected to attract a younger, tech-savvy audience looking to step into the world of luxury EVs.

Final Word

The launch of the Volvo EX30 marks a major milestone in India’s luxury EV segment. With its sustainable design, cutting-edge tech, and competitive pricing, the EX30 is well-positioned to make luxury electric mobility more accessible to Indian buyers. For those eyeing this stylish and eco-conscious SUV, booking before October 19, 2025, will ensure the best deal.
