Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a transformative wave in clean energy, electric mobility, and industrial growth, and at the heart of this revolution is one name – Tata. From pioneering large-scale solar projects to expanding electric vehicle infrastructure, the state is rapidly embracing a sustainable and future-ready economy. With ambitious plans in power generation, EV manufacturing, and skill development, the impact of these initiatives is set to ripple across industries and communities alike. Curious how a corporate giant is reshaping an entire state’s energy and industrial landscape? This is where Tata Group Powers UP’s Clean Energy and drives unprecedented growth.

Clean Energy and Power

Tata Power plays a pivotal role in strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s energy security. The 1,900 MW thermal power plant at Bara in Prayagraj continues to provide a reliable backbone for the state’s industrial and commercial needs. Complementing this, Tata Power is expanding its solar footprint with two new 50 MW solar power plants in Prayagraj and Bundelkhand, supporting the state’s renewable energy ambitions.

The “Ghar Ghar Solar” initiative is another key highlight, promoting residential rooftop solar installations across 75 districts. This decentralized approach not only empowers citizens to adopt clean energy but also contributes to the state’s broader sustainable development goals and energy resilience.

Electric Mobility

Tata Motors is spearheading the growth of electric mobility in Uttar Pradesh by expanding its EV manufacturing capabilities and introducing new models. To support this ecosystem, Tata Power is rolling out the “EZ Charge” network, establishing EV charging hubs and public charging stations in cities including Kanpur, Lucknow, and Ayodhya, as well as along major highways. These initiatives aim to create seamless connectivity and strengthen the adoption of electric vehicles across the state.

Industrial and Skill Development

In Noida, Tata Group is constructing four to five new office buildings, reinforcing the city’s position as a premier corporate hub, with phased completion targeted by December 2026. Parallelly, Tata Technologies is collaborating with the state government to upgrade 150 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into modern technology centers, focusing on Industry 4.0 skill development.

Additionally, discussions included potential investments in AI-driven urban projects, defense manufacturing, including drones and missiles, and new hotels to boost tourism. Under the state’s EV subsidy policy, Tata Sons is exploring further vehicle manufacturing expansion, dedicated EV production facilities, and deployment of electric buses.

Conclusion

Through its multifaceted engagement in clean energy, electric mobility, industrial infrastructure, and skill development, Tata Group is playing a transformative role in Uttar Pradesh’s growth story. By aligning with the state’s integrated development strategy, these initiatives ensure sustainable progress, industrial diversification, and a future-ready economic ecosystem.
