Mercedes-Benz is ready to spark fresh excitement in India’s luxury EV space, and the buzz is impossible to ignore. Imagine a sleek electric sedan that blends intelligence, range, and comfort into one futuristic package. With Mercedes-Benz to Roll Out CLA EV in India in Two Months, expectations are soaring among EV enthusiasts and premium car buyers alike. Promising advanced technology, impressive driving range, and signature luxury, the upcoming CLA EV could redefine what electric sedans mean for Indian roads.
Launch Timeline and Pricing
The Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is likely to be launched in India around mid-December 2025, following its global debut in Europe in October 2025. The electric sedan will be brought to India as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit. According to industry estimates, the CLA EV is expected to be priced between ₹55 lakh and ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it in the premium electric sedan segment.
Platform, Powertrain, and Range
Built on the brand’s new Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA) platform, the CLA EV is designed for efficiency and performance. The CLA 250+ variant will feature a rear-mounted electric motor producing 272 hp, while a more powerful CLA 350 4Matic variant with all-wheel drive delivers up to 354 hp.
One of the biggest highlights is its impressive WLTP-certified range of around 792 km, making it one of the longest-range EVs expected in India. This range enables long-distance journeys—such as a Jalandhar to Jodhpur drive—on a single charge.

Charging and Efficiency
The CLA EV adopts an advanced 800V electrical architecture, allowing ultra-fast DC charging of up to 320 kW. This enables the car to gain approximately 300 km of range in just 10 minutes, significantly reducing charging downtime. Its sleek, aerodynamic design achieves a low drag coefficient of 0.21, enhancing efficiency and driving range.
Technology and Interior Experience
The CLA EV will be the first Mercedes-Benz model to feature the brand’s in-house MB.OS operating system. Powered by AI-driven intelligence, the system personalises the driving experience—adapting music preferences, climate control, and seat comfort automatically based on user habits and time of day. The cabin also features the latest Superscreen display, delivering a futuristic, digital-first interface.
Mercedes’ EV Strategy in India
Mercedes-Benz India MD and CEO Santosh Iyer confirmed that while the company already offers six electric models in India, the CLA EV will deliver a significantly higher range. It joins locally manufactured models like the EQS 580 sedan and EQS 450 SUV, expanding the brand’s premium EV lineup.
With long range, fast charging, and intelligent technology, the Mercedes-Benz CLA EV aims to redefine luxury electric mobility in India.
