Montra Electric expands its eSCV portfolio with the launch of two new battery variants under its EVIATOR electric small commercial vehicle lineup. The company, part of the Murugappa Group, has introduced the EVIATOR 350 (32 kWh) and EVIATOR 350L+ (50 kWh), strengthening its position in India’s growing electric logistics segment.

New Variants and Pricing

The newly launched models are priced competitively to address diverse logistics needs:

  • EVIATOR 350 (32 kWh) – ₹14.58 lakh (introductory)
  • EVIATOR 350L+ (50 kWh) – ₹16.86 lakh (introductory)

With this move, Montra Electric expands its eSCV portfolio to include three battery configurations: 32 kWh, 40 kWh (existing), and 50 kWh.

Designed for Diverse Logistics Needs

The 32 kWh variant is tailored for urban last-mile delivery, offering a real-world driving range of up to 140 km. It is positioned as an efficient and cost-effective entry point, with a strong emphasis on uptime and operational reliability.

On the other hand, the 50 kWh EVIATOR 350L+ is built for long-distance intercity transport and high-demand applications such as refrigerated logistics and municipal operations. It delivers a certified range of over 300 km and a practical range exceeding 200 km.

Proven Data-Driven Expansion

The expansion comes after extensive analysis of fleet performance. Over 600 vehicles have collectively covered more than 500,000–650,000 kilometers, providing valuable insights into real-world usage patterns. This data-driven approach has enabled the company to refine its offerings and align them with specific operational requirements.

As a result, Montra Electric expands its eSCV portfolio with a focus on duty-cycle-based solutions, allowing fleet operators to choose vehicles that best match their business needs.

Key Performance Specifications

All EVIATOR variants share robust engineering features:

  • Payload Capacity: Up to 1.7 tonnes
  • Motor Output: 80 kW peak power, 300 Nm torque
  • Gradeability: 35% incline capability
  • Charging: AC and DC fast charging support
  • Fast Charging Time: 20% to 100% in approximately 1 hour 17 minutes to 1 hour 29 minutes (30 kW DC)
  • Cargo Deck: 10.4 feet with 2677 mm wheelbase

Market Growth and Strategy

The expansion follows the success of the EVIATOR 350L, launched earlier, which reportedly captured over 30% market share in the 3.5-ton segment within 11 months. This growth underlines the increasing demand for electric commercial vehicles in India.

Company leadership emphasized that Montra Electric expands the eSCV portfolio not just with new products but with a strategic shift toward improving uptime, efficiency, and total cost of ownership. The introduction of multiple battery options enables fleet operators to optimize operations and scale electric adoption more effectively.

Availability and Broader Portfolio

The new variants are now being rolled out across dealerships, where customers can access comparative data to evaluate return on investment.

Montra Electric’s broader lineup includes electric trucks, passenger and cargo three-wheelers, and electric tractors, reflecting its commitment to advancing clean mobility across segments.
