Keeway’s First Electric Scooter, launching in India, is expected to make its debut next month, marking the brand’s official entry into the country’s fast-growing electric two-wheeler segment. The upcoming EZI Hypevolt electric scooter will be positioned as a premium offering, targeting enthusiasts looking for performance, advanced technology, and futuristic styling.
Keeway, operated in India by Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI), is known for its petrol-powered scooters and motorcycles. Now, the company is expanding its portfolio with an electric model sourced from its Chinese EV sub-brand, EZI.
What Is EZI?
EZI is Keeway’s dedicated electric mobility brand established in 2020. The company manufactures a wide range of electric two-wheelers at its production facility in Ziyang, Sichuan, China. Its lineup includes electric scooters, cruisers, scramblers, and maxi-scooters designed for modern urban mobility.
The EZI Hypevolt will be the first product from this sub-brand to arrive in India.
Futuristic Design Inspired by Premium Maxi-Scooters
One of the biggest highlights of Keeway’s First Electric Scooter launching in India is its distinctive design. The EZI Hypevolt features a futuristic maxi-scooter appearance that resembles premium European electric scooters.
The scooter comes with split LED headlamps, vertical LED daytime running lights, and a long, sculpted body profile. It rides on large 14-inch alloy wheels and features a split-style bench seat for rider and pillion comfort.
The scooter has a seat height of 770 mm and tips the scales at approximately 145 kg.
Powerful Battery and Performance Specifications
The EZI Hypevolt is equipped with two 2.5 kWh battery packs, providing a combined battery capacity of 5 kWh.
Power comes from a mid-drive electric motor producing 12 kW of peak power, while continuous output is rated at 6 kW. This setup enables the scooter to achieve a top speed of up to 115 km/h.
According to the manufacturer, the scooter can deliver a claimed riding range of up to 140 kilometres on a single charge. Fast-charging capability is also expected to be offered, making it more convenient for daily commuting and longer urban rides.
Advanced Safety and Smart Features
Another major attraction of Keeway’s First Electric Scooter launching in India is its feature-rich package.
The India-spec model is expected to feature dual disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. Additional safety technologies may include traction control, hill hold control, and hill descent control.
In international markets, the Hypevolt is also available with a rear-view camera and blind-spot detection system. Whether these advanced rider-assistance features make it to the Indian version remains to be confirmed.
On the technology front, the scooter is expected to feature a 5-inch TFT LCD with smartphone connectivity and app-based functions.
Expected Price and Launch Timeline
The launch is expected to take place in mid-June. Since the scooter is likely to arrive through the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route, pricing is expected to remain on the premium side.
Industry estimates suggest Keeway’s First Electric Scooter launching in India could be priced at over ₹3 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it in the premium electric scooter category.
With its 140 km claimed range, 115 km/h top speed, twin-battery setup, advanced safety technologies, and eye-catching design, the EZI Hypevolt could become one of the most distinctive premium electric scooters available in the Indian market.
