Deltic wins nod for 340 three-wheelers under two government-led electric mobility procurement programs in eastern India, marking a significant milestone for the electric vehicle manufacturer. The development strengthens the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in public utility and last-mile transportation services.

According to the company, the proposed deployment includes approximately 240 L5 electric garbage-collection vehicles and 100 L3 electric rickshaws. These vehicles are expected to support sanitation, waste management, and urban mobility initiatives across the region.

Project Value Estimated at ₹8-10 Crore

The procurement programme is expected to generate a potential order value of approximately ₹8 crore to ₹10 crore. However, the company is currently awaiting formal work orders, procurement schedules, and final approvals from the concerned authorities and implementing agencies.

If approved as planned, project execution is expected in the first half of FY2026-27. Industry experts believe the initiative reflects the growing role of electric three-wheelers in government-backed sustainability projects.

Entry into the Institutional Procurement Segment

A key highlight is that Deltic wins a nod for 340 three-wheelers while simultaneously entering the institutional procurement space in the L5 electric vehicle category. The deployment of 240 electric garbage collection vehicles represents the company’s first major institutional project in this segment.

The company already offers a range of electric mobility solutions across both L3 and L5 three-wheeler categories. With this achievement, Deltic wins a nod for 340 three-wheelers and plans to pursue similar government and institutional opportunities in northern and western India.

Growing Demand for Electric Three-Wheelers

Electric three-wheelers are increasingly being adopted for commercial and public utility operations due to their lower operating costs, reduced emissions, and suitability for congested urban environments. As Deltic wins nod for 340 three-wheelers, the project highlights the accelerating transition toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation solutions across India.
