The Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) is setting up five dedicated fast-charging stations in Nellore, Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool, and Tirupati’s Mangalam area. The project is being implemented at an estimated cost of ₹15 crore and is expected to play a crucial role in the operation of APSRTC electric buses.

Focus on Timely Completion and Quality

As APSPDCL speeds up EV charging stations, Chairman and Managing Director Shivashankar Lotheti reviewed the progress of the works through a video conference held at the corporate office. The meeting included district Superintending Engineers, APSRTC officials, and contractors involved in the project.

During the review, Lotheti directed contractors to prioritise quality while ensuring that all work is completed by June 20, 2026. He also instructed project teams to immediately report and resolve any execution-related challenges in coordination with APSPDCL and APSRTC officials.

Supporting Andhra Pradesh’s EV Vision

The move comes as APSPDCL speeds up EV charging stations to align with the Andhra Pradesh Sustainable Electric Mobility Policy. The policy targets the deployment of 1,000 electric buses and the establishment of 5,000 public EV charging stations across the state.

Regular monitoring through virtual review meetings is helping ensure smooth coordination among engineers, contractors, and transport officials. With this initiative, APSPDCL speeds up EV charging stations to create a reliable charging network that will support cleaner, more efficient public transport services while advancing Andhra Pradesh’s long-term sustainability goals.
