In an exciting leap towards greener transportation, NPCL sets up 3 high-speed EV charging stations across Greater Noida, just in time for UPITS-2025. These cutting-edge stations promise to transform how EV owners charge their vehicles, making long waits a thing of the past. Strategically located near key hubs like India Expo Mart and Sharda Hospital, the stations are designed for both speed and convenience. But what makes these chargers truly groundbreaking, and how will they reshape Greater Noida’s EV landscape? Dive in as we explore the fast, affordable, and sustainable future that NPCL is bringing to the city.

Strategic Locations and Fast-Charging Facilities

The new charging stations have been strategically located for maximum accessibility around the India Expo Mart area: KP-2 (near India Expo Mart), KP-3 (near Sharda Hospital), and Alpha-1 (near Samrat Mihir Bhoj Park/City Park). Each station houses six charging points, equipped with both 120 kW and 60 kW fast chargers. With a combined capacity of 540 kW, these stations can charge up to 12 vehicles simultaneously, ensuring efficiency for both personal and commercial EV users. Remarkably, a typical four-wheeler EV battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes, allowing for a rapid turnaround.

Swift Execution and Collaboration

The project was executed under a tight timeline. GNIDA issued a directive on September 12 to have the stations operational by September 22. NPCL, leveraging its technical expertise and resources, completed the project in just 10 days. The initiative was carried out in close partnership with service providers M/s Roadgrid India Pvt Ltd and M/s Digiron India Pvt Ltd. While GNIDA provided the land for the stations, NPCL handled the infrastructure development under a 10-year concession, ensuring long-term service delivery.

Affordable and Accessible Charging

Charging at these stations has been priced affordably at ₹17 + GST per unit, reportedly the lowest tariff in Greater Noida. The facilities are accessible to over two lakh NPCL consumers, and the company plans to integrate EV charging services with its billing system and digital payment platforms. This approach is designed to encourage greater adoption of EVs by simplifying access and payment for users.

Vision for a Green Future

Beyond the UPITS event, NPCL, in partnership with GNIDA, aims to scale up the EV network across Greater Noida. Future upgrades include the introduction of higher-capacity chargers (up to 240 kW), smart load management systems, and integration with renewable energy sources. These enhancements are expected to provide faster, smarter, and more sustainable charging solutions for EV owners in the region.

Driving Broader EV Infrastructure Development

NPCL’s latest initiative is part of a broader vision to strengthen Greater Noida’s EV ecosystem. The company has previously collaborated with other firms, such as Statiq and Servotech EV Infra, to establish additional charging stations, including at residential complexes. This expansion aligns with India’s growing emphasis on EV adoption and the need for robust charging infrastructure to support the shift toward cleaner transportation.

With these high-speed EV charging stations, Greater Noida is poised to become a model city for sustainable mobility, ensuring that residents and visitors alike enjoy convenient, affordable, and eco-friendly transportation options during UPITS-2025 and beyond.
