Paua and Zaptec partner to deliver an integrated electric vehicle charging solution for UK fleet operators managing vehicles across homes, workplaces, depots, and public networks. The collaboration combines Paua’s charge card, payment, and reimbursement platform with Zaptec’s charging hardware and cloud-based management capabilities.
The system will give fleet managers oversight of charging activity across locations. Operators can access consolidated reports and receive a single monthly invoice, reducing the administrative burden created by separate home, depot, and public charging records.
How Home Reimbursement Works
Under the agreement, Zaptec chargers will transfer charging-session data to Paua using built-in energy meters. Paua can calculate costs according to an employee’s electricity tariff and automate reimbursement for electricity used on business mileage.
Drivers can access public infrastructure through Paua’s charge card and app. This gives fleets one system for tracking charging costs wherever vehicles are plugged in.
Smart Hardware for Every Location
Paua and Zaptec partner around two products: Zaptec Go 2 for home charging and Zaptec Pro for workplaces, depots, and commercial locations. Zaptec’s cloud platform provides data on energy consumption, charging sessions, and charger performance.
For installations, Zaptec says its Pro architecture can connect multiple chargers through a single cable. The design can reduce material use by up to 70% and installation labor by more than 60%. Dynamic load balancing enables several EVs to charge simultaneously without matching increases in electrical capacity.
Albert Parnell, head of partnerships at Zaptec, said fleets need charging systems reflecting how drivers operate. He added that combining Zaptec’s technology with Paua’s platform would improve visibility, provide a turnkey solution, and reduce the workload involved in electrifying home and depot charging.
Reliability and Future-Ready Technology
Zaptec says its Norwegian-engineered and manufactured chargers carry a five-year warranty and deliver 99.9% uptime. Zaptec Go 2 is vehicle-to-grid ready, helping fleets prepare for bidirectional charging as V2G deployment expands.
Paua and Zaptec partner as operators increasingly seek one platform for charging across employee homes, public networks, and dedicated facilities.
The deal follows Zaptec’s partnership with energy technology platform Kraken, connecting customers to utility services from EDF Energy, Octopus Energy, and E.ON Next. Zaptec has also expanded its Polestar relationship through a two-year agreement offering discounted charging hardware in Baltic and international markets. The companies initially partnered in 2024, supporting access to smart AC charging solutions across Europe and beyond.
