River Mobility rolls out its 50,000th Indie Scooter, achieving a significant production milestone less than three years after the electric scooter’s commercial launch. The Bengaluru-based EV startup reached the landmark at its integrated manufacturing facility in Hoskote, Karnataka, highlighting its rapid expansion in India’s competitive electric two-wheeler market.

The achievement reflects the company’s steady growth in manufacturing, retail expansion, and customer adoption. River Mobility has expanded its nationwide retail network from 34 outlets to more than 75 stores while continuing vehicle assembly and battery pack production at its Hoskote plant. The company also reported a remarkable 264% year-on-year sales growth during mid-2026, helping it secure the seventh position in India’s electric two-wheeler market based on monthly retail volumes.

River Indie Built for Everyday Practicality

Positioned as the “SUV of Scooters,” the Indie has been designed to meet the everyday commuting needs of Indian riders by combining utility, performance, and durability. River Mobility rolls out the 50,000th Indie Scooter at a time when demand for feature-rich electric scooters continues to rise across urban and semi-urban markets.

The scooter offers a class-leading 55-liter storage capacity, including a 43-liter under-seat compartment and a 12-liter front glove box. It is powered by a 4 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed IDC range of 161 km. Performance comes from a 6.7 kW peak-power electric motor capable of reaching a top speed of 90 km/h, while Rush mode enables 0-40 km/h acceleration in just 3.7 seconds. Rugged 14-inch alloy wheels and dual disc brakes further enhance stability and control on challenging city roads.

Manufacturing Expansion and Future Growth

The milestone demonstrates River Mobility’s growing production capabilities. Both vehicle assembly and battery pack manufacturing are carried out in-house at the Hoskote facility, ensuring greater quality control and operational efficiency.

Following this achievement, the company is preparing to increase its annual production capacity beyond 1.5 lakh units as it develops its next generation of electric vehicles. River Mobility rolls out its 50,000th Indie Scooter as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its manufacturing footprint, expand its retail and service network, and support India’s accelerating shift toward electric mobility.

Currently priced at ₹155,199 (ex-showroom), the River Indie remains the company’s flagship electric scooter. Customers can explore the scooter, schedule a test ride, or purchase it through River Mobility’s growing network of more than 75 stores across India. River Mobility Rolls Out Its 50,000th Indie scooter, which not only marks an important production milestone but also reinforces the company’s ambition to become a leading player in India’s fast-growing EV industry.
