Magnachip Launches 6th-Gen 600V SJ MOSFETs to strengthen its portfolio of next-generation power semiconductors designed for high-efficiency applications. The newly announced 600V Super Junction (SJ) MOSFETs are engineered to meet the increasing demand for efficient power conversion in AI server power supplies, electric vehicle (EV) charging systems, industrial power infrastructure, and telecom equipment. The latest devices focus on reducing power losses, improving thermal performance, and enabling higher power density for modern electronic systems.

New 6th-Generation MOSFETs Deliver Higher Efficiency

The newly introduced 6th-generation SJ MOSFETs feature exceptionally low RDS(ON) values of 36mΩ and 37mΩ, helping minimize conduction losses while improving overall power conversion efficiency. Lower on-resistance allows systems to operate with reduced heat generation, making them ideal for high-current and high-power environments.

Both devices also integrate a Zener diode between the gate and source terminals, providing enhanced protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD). This built-in protection improves long-term device reliability while increasing circuit safety in demanding operating conditions.

Another major enhancement is the significantly reduced chip size compared to the previous generation, enabling greater design flexibility and allowing manufacturers to develop more compact and efficient power systems.

Built for AI Servers, EV Chargers, and Industrial Applications

One of the newly launched models, MMTB60R037G6FZVRH, incorporates a Fast Recovery Body Diode, which reduces reverse recovery losses and improves switching performance in high-frequency power conversion applications. This feature is especially beneficial for AI server power supplies, where energy efficiency, thermal management, and power density are critical performance requirements.

Both MOSFETs are housed in the TOLL package and feature a Kelvin Source configuration, which minimizes parasitic inductance and enhances switching stability during high-current operation. These improvements make the devices suitable for a wide range of applications, including AI infrastructure, EV charging systems, industrial power supplies, and telecom networks.

Growing Demand Drives Innovation

The launch comes as demand for energy-efficient power semiconductors continues to rise. According to market research from Omdia, the discrete semiconductor market for computing and data storage applications is projected to grow from approximately $3.7 billion in 2025 to $5.9 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 9%.

The rapid expansion of AI data centers, high-density server architectures, and fast-growing EV charging infrastructure is expected to further increase demand for advanced Super Junction MOSFETs capable of delivering superior efficiency and reliability.

Magnachip Expands Its Power Semiconductor Portfolio

With the Magnachip launching 6th-Gen 600V SJ MOSFETs, the company continues its transformation into a pure-play power semiconductor business focused on high-growth markets. Alongside these new products, Magnachip has also expanded its lineup with 8th-generation 12V BatteryFETs for smartphone batteries and 8th-generation 40V/60V medium-voltage MOSFETs designed for performance computing and PC power supplies.

Commenting on the launch, Chief Technology Officer Hyuk Woo said the latest SJ MOSFETs combine low on-resistance, improved switching performance, and enhanced reliability to help customers build more efficient and higher-density power systems for next-generation AI infrastructure, EV charging, industrial equipment, and telecom applications.

As Magnachip Launches 6th-Gen 600V SJ MOSFETs, the company is positioning itself to address the growing global demand for reliable, high-performance power conversion technologies that support the future of AI computing and electric mobility.
