VinFast Partners With Castrol India: VinFast Auto India has taken a significant step toward strengthening its presence in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market by partnering with Castrol India Limited. On October 1, the Vietnamese automaker signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Castrol India to provide comprehensive after-sales support for its EV customers across the country. This strategic collaboration aims to ensure that VinFast owners receive convenient, reliable, and standardized service, marking an important milestone in India’s transition to sustainable mobility.

Leveraging Castrol’s Extensive Network

Under the partnership, VinFast will gain access to select workshops from Castrol’s existing network of over 750 Castrol Auto Service (CAS) outlets spread across more than 300 cities in India. Participating workshops will be upgraded with VinFast-branded service bays, staffed by certified EV technicians, and stocked with genuine VinFast parts. This ensures that customers receive high-quality service with standardized processes, regardless of location.

VinFast will provide participating workshops with essential service manuals, diagnostic tools, training, and warranty coverage processes. Meanwhile, Castrol will ensure that all facilities meet the required infrastructure and capability standards. Additionally, the collaboration will leverage Castrol’s digitally integrated workshop ecosystem, offering transparency, convenience, and a consistent service experience across all touchpoints.

Supporting India’s EV Growth

Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, emphasized that the collaboration guarantees nationwide service access for customers. He noted that the initiative reflects the commitment of both companies to support India’s growing EV adoption. Rajeev Govil, Senior Vice President of India B2B at Castrol India, added that robust after-sales support is essential for building customer confidence as electric mobility gains momentum in India, highlighting Castrol’s long-standing experience in servicing passenger vehicles.

VinFast’s India Expansion Strategy

This partnership is part of VinFast’s broader strategy to establish a strong foothold in India. The company recently inaugurated its first overseas EV assembly plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with an initial production capacity of 50,000 vehicles annually, which can be scaled up to 150,000 units. VinFast is also actively expanding its retail presence, partnering with dealer groups to launch 35 dealerships in 27 cities by the end of 2025.

In terms of product offerings, VinFast launched its premium electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, in India in 2025. As a subsidiary of Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC, VinFast focuses exclusively on electric vehicles, aligning with global trends toward sustainable mobility.

Mutual Benefits of the Collaboration

For VinFast, this partnership provides a fast-track route to a reliable and widespread after-sales network, which is critical for instilling trust among Indian EV buyers. For Castrol, the alliance allows the company to extend its expertise from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric mobility, tapping into a rapidly growing market segment.

By combining VinFast’s innovative EV technology with Castrol’s extensive service network and expertise, the partnership is set to create a seamless and dependable service experience for EV customers across India, driving the nation closer to a sustainable automotive future.
