VinFast crosses 1000 EV sales in India, marking a major milestone for the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer just months after its official market entry. Achieved in around four months, this figure highlights VinFast’s fast-growing acceptance among Indian EV buyers and underlines the company’s focused strategy on products, pricing, and infrastructure.
Rapid Growth and Market Position
As of January 12, 2026, VinFast has crossed 1000 EV sales in India, emerging as the fourth-largest electric car brand in the country. The company now stands behind established players like Tata Motors, JSW MG Motor, and Mahindra Electric. In terms of numbers, VinFast sold nearly 830 vehicles in the last quarter of 2025 and added over 200 units in early 2026 alone. Notably, it has outperformed some global competitors during their initial phases, signaling strong early traction in a competitive market.

Expanding Sales and Service Network
A key driver of this growth has been VinFast’s rapid expansion of its retail and service infrastructure. Within just four months, the brand has set up more than 25 dealerships and over 80 service centers across India. Alongside this, VinFast is steadily strengthening its charging ecosystem to address range anxiety and improve overall ownership experience, which has played a crucial role as VinFast crosses 1000 EV sales in India.
Current Product Portfolio
VinFast’s early success is powered by two premium electric SUVs manufactured at its integrated assembly plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
- VF 6: A compact electric SUV priced between ₹16.49 lakh and ₹18.29 lakh. It recently won the “Value for Money Car of the Year” award at the Autocar India Awards 2026.
- VF 7: A mid-size electric SUV priced from ₹20.89 lakh to ₹25.49 lakh, aimed at buyers seeking a premium EV experience.
2026 Expansion and Future Plans
Looking ahead, VinFast plans to diversify aggressively in 2026. The Limo Green, a three-row electric MPV (5+2 seater), is expected by March 2026 and will target family buyers. The VF 3, an urban micro-SUV priced under ₹10 lakh, is planned for the first half of 2026 to compete in the affordable EV segment. Additionally, VinFast intends to enter the electric two-wheeler market in Q2 FY2026.
A Promising Road Ahead
With strong initial sales, expanding infrastructure, and a well-planned product roadmap, VinFast crosses 1000 EV sales in India not just as a number, but as a clear indicator of its long-term ambitions in one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets.
