Sinopec (Hong Kong) has opened the PIT Ultra Kowloon Bay Max 600kW supercharging hub, marking Hong Kong’s first petrol station transformed into dedicated electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Located at the junction of Kai Fuk Road and Shing Yau Street, the former fuel forecourt represents the transition towards cleaner mobility. The Sinopec 600kW EV Charging Station opened on August 31 under the company’s Power In Time brand. The launch ceremony was attended by Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan, lawmakers, and Sinopec executives.
Twenty DC Fast-Charging Bays
The facility features five charging units capable of delivering up to 600kW each and serves 20 DC fast-charging bays. Smart power allocation adjusts output according to demand. Sinopec says every connected vehicle can receive more than 100kW even when all bays are occupied.

Six bays use Huawei liquid-cooling technology. Compatible EVs built on 800V or higher-voltage architectures can recharge from 20% to 80% in approximately 10 minutes. This makes the Sinopec 600kW EV Charging Station one of Hong Kong’s most powerful charging destinations.
Support for Cross-Border EVs and Buses
Eight charging bays offer both GB/T and CCS2 connectors, accommodating Mainland Chinese and international EV standards. A dedicated large-vehicle bay can also charge double-decker buses, extending the facility’s usefulness beyond private passenger cars.
Charging Price and Driver Amenities
During its opening promotion, charging costs HK$1.68 per kWh, with complimentary parking. The spaceship-inspired site includes an Easy Joy convenience store selling Hong Kong favorites such as egg waffles and siu mai, Tiki Easy Coffee, arcade games, claw and gacha machines, plus an interactive AI robot assistant.
Growing Asian Charging Investment
Tse highlighted Sinopec’s decarbonization efforts, including Hong Kong’s first public hydrogen refueling station in Au Tau in 2024 and a Fo Tan petrol-site charging project completed in May 2026.
The Sinopec 600 kW EV Charging Station arrives as regional investment accelerates. Tellus Power and Cornerstone Technologies are expanding charging operations in Hong Kong and Thailand while exploring vehicle-to-grid technology and asset tokenization. Charge+ and XPeng plan to connect around 3,800 chargepoints and develop chargers rated up to 480 kW across Southeast Asia.
Jiuzi Holdings secured a US$30 million investment in February 2026 for phased charging-network development across regional cities and transport corridors. Sinopec now plans more PIT fast-charging locations across Hong Kong, including conversions within its existing petrol-station network.
