Geely’s premium automotive brand Lynk & Co has officially launched the New Lynk & Co 08 EM-P Max variant in China, offering a significantly improved electric driving range and a more affordable price point. The new model starts at 188,800 yuan (approximately USD 27,920) before discounts, making long-range plug-in hybrid technology accessible to more buyers.

The launch strengthens the position of the New Lynk & Co 08 EM-P as one of the brand’s most popular and best-selling SUVs in the Chinese market.

Larger Battery Delivers 230 km Pure Electric Range

One of the biggest upgrades in the new variant is the battery pack. The previous entry-level version came with a 28.3 kWh battery that provided up to 160 km of CLTC-rated electric range. The newly introduced model replaces it with a larger 38.2 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery.

Thanks to this upgrade, the SUV now offers the following:

  • 230 km CLTC pure electric range
  • Up to 1,400 km combined driving range
  • Fuel consumption of only 4.5 liters per 100 km when the battery is depleted

The new configuration is designed for families and long-distance travelers looking for lower running costs and extended range.

Powerful Plug-in Hybrid Performance

The New Lynk & Co 08 EM-P continues to use its advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain. The system combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 161 hp with an electric motor generating 241 hp.

Power is delivered through a 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), producing a combined output of up to 402 hp and 615 Nm of torque. This setup delivers strong acceleration while maintaining high efficiency.

Advanced Driver Assistance and Smart Technology

The SUV comes equipped with a comprehensive intelligent driving package. Key features include the following:

  • Roof-mounted LiDAR sensor
  • 11 cameras
  • 12 ultrasonic sensors
  • 3 millimeter-wave radars
  • NVIDIA Orin-Y chip with 200 TOPS computing power

These technologies enable advanced Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) functions on both urban roads and highways.

Premium Interior and Practical Cabin

Inside, the New Lynk & Co 08 EM-P features a technology-focused cabin equipped with

  • 15.4-inch central touchscreen
  • Apple CarPlay support
  • 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 50W wireless phone charging
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Premium 23-speaker audio system

The SUV also offers excellent practicality with 545 liters of cargo space, expandable to 1,277 liters when the rear seats are folded.

Better Value for Long-Range Buyers

Previously, the 38.2 kWh battery was available only in the higher-priced Ultra trim, costing 205,800 yuan. With the introduction of the new Max variant, customers can now enjoy the same long-range battery while saving approximately 17,000 yuan.

Measuring 4,825 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,848 mm, the New Lynk & Co 08 EM-P remains a spacious mid-size SUV. Since its market debut in September 2023, the model has become a major success, achieving cumulative deliveries of 169,057 units in China and expanding into international markets, including Kazakhstan.

With its longer electric range, advanced technology, premium features, and competitive pricing, the latest Lynk & Co 08 EM-P Max is expected to further strengthen the brand’s presence in the rapidly growing plug-in hybrid SUV segment.
