The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has taken another major step toward strengthening India’s electric mobility ecosystem with the announcement of a new EV manufacturing unit planned in YEIDA Sector 8D. A letter of intent (LoI) has been issued to Neenjas Electric, marking a significant addition to the growing EV and allied manufacturing cluster near the upcoming Noida International Airport.
Strategic Location Near Noida International Airport
The proposed facility will be developed on a 20,000 square metre industrial plot in Sector 8D, a location that offers strong logistical and operational advantages. Its proximity to the Noida International Airport and seamless connectivity via the Yamuna Expressway make it an ideal hub for manufacturing and distribution. Officials highlighted that such infrastructure-driven planning is key to attracting advanced manufacturing investments to the region.
Focus on EV Chargers and Solar Power Banks
Neenjas Electric’s upcoming facility will primarily focus on the manufacturing of on-board EV chargers and solar power banks. These products are designed to support electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and light commercial vehicles. The company plans to develop high IP-rated onboard chargers and advanced solar power bank systems specifically engineered for Indian operating conditions.
This new EV manufacturing unit planned in YEIDA aims to strengthen the domestic supply chain for high-capacity power electronics and renewable energy storage systems, reducing reliance on imports and supporting self-reliant manufacturing.
Investment and Employment Generation
The project is expected to involve an investment of approximately ₹169 crore, reflecting strong industry confidence in YEIDA’s long-term development roadmap. According to officials, the project is also expected to generate local employment and contribute to skill development in EV-related technologies.
YEIDA CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh, who handed over the LoI to Neenjas Electric Managing Director Vineet Gupta, stated that the Yamuna Expressway region is emerging as a key destination for EV and allied industries. He emphasised that such projects align with India’s broader clean energy and sustainability goals.
YEIDA’s Growing EV Manufacturing Ecosystem
Over the past few years, YEIDA has actively promoted the Yamuna Expressway region as a hub for electric mobility, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing. The new EV manufacturing unit planned in YEIDA further reinforces this vision, positioning the region as a future-ready industrial corridor.
As infrastructure, policy support, and private investment come together, the new EV manufacturing unit planned in YEIDA is set to play a crucial role in accelerating India’s transition toward clean and sustainable transportation.
