The MINI Countryman SE ALL4 has proven its strength as a long-distance electric SUV by completing an extraordinary cross-continental road trip from Munich, Germany, to Iceland. This ambitious adventure highlights the model’s engineering prowess, real-world range, and MINI’s growing commitment to sustainable mobility.
A Remarkable Expedition Across Countries and Terrains
The fully electric Countryman SE ALL4 travelled through Germany, Denmark, and the Faroe Islands before reaching its final destination—Iceland. Covering thousands of kilometres, the journey was designed to push the EV beyond standard test cycles, showcasing its ability to deliver consistent performance across highways, rural landscapes, coastlines, and rugged terrains.
This expedition not only tested the vehicle’s endurance but also demonstrated the practicality of international EV touring, supported by Europe’s expanding charging infrastructure.
Performance that Inspires Confidence
One of the major highlights of the journey was the SE ALL4’s robust dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, which delivers a powerful 313 hp and 494 Nm of torque. This configuration enables strong acceleration and stable handling, even in unpredictable weather and on challenging surfaces—a key advantage during long-distance travel.
With a quick 0–100 km/h time of just 5.6 seconds, the electric SUV offers MINI’s signature “fun-to-drive” experience, blending agility with EV refinement.
Long-Distance Range and Fast-Charging Capability
The Countryman SE ALL4 comes equipped with a 66.45 kWh lithium-ion battery offering a WLTP-certified range of up to 440 km on a single charge. Throughout the journey, this range proved sufficient for long highway stretches and remote regions, while the vehicle’s fast-charging capability ensured minimal downtime.
Using a 130 kW DC fast charger, the SE ALL4 can charge from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes, making it ideal for extended road trips. At compatible AC charging stations, the battery can be charged fully in approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Comfort and Technology Built for Adventures
The journey also allowed MINI to showcase the SUV’s premium comfort features and advanced driver assistance systems. Highlights include:
- Panoramic glass roof for a spacious, airy cabin
- Harman Kardon sound system for immersive audio
- Adaptive cruise control for stress-free highway driving
- Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-degree camera for convenient manoeuvring in tight spaces
These features ensure both comfort and safety, making long drives more enjoyable for drivers and passengers alike.
Celebrating MINI’s Legacy and Electric Future
The “epic electric journey” also tied into the brand’s global events, including MINI’s 65th anniversary and the MINI Takes the States 2024 rally in the U.S. These celebrations reflect the brand’s push toward electrified performance and adventure-ready EVs.
With the SE ALL4, MINI continues to strengthen its electric portfolio, proving that EVs are not just for cities but also capable of conquering long routes, tough weather, and diverse terrains.
