The world of electric vehicles just got more exciting as Kia debuts EV2, its most compact and versatile electric SUV yet. Revealed at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, the EV2 promises a surprising blend of spacious interiors, smart technology, and city-friendly design—all packed into a small, stylish package. Could this be the perfect EV for urban drivers seeking practicality without compromise? Discover how Kia is redefining compact electric mobility with a vehicle designed for modern lifestyles.
Expanding the Electric Mobility Horizon
“With the Kia EV2, we are expanding the reach of Kia’s electric mobility to customers who want a compact car that still feels spacious, capable, and emotionally rewarding,” said Ho Sung Song, president and CEO of Kia. The EV2 represents Kia’s commitment to practical innovation, blending thoughtful design, everyday usability, and cutting-edge EV technology for urban lifestyles worldwide.

Compact Yet Spacious: The “Picnic Box” Concept
Despite being the most compact electric SUV in Kia’s lineup, the Kia EV2 doesn’t compromise on interior space. Kia has designed the cabin with the “Picnic Box” concept, featuring sliding second-row seats, generous headroom, and reclining backrests. This allows legroom to extend up to 958mm, while luggage capacity reaches 403 litres with the rear seats fully forward. A front trunk provides additional storage, making it ideal for city driving and weekend getaways.
Performance and Battery Options
The Kia EV2 will be offered in two variants: a standard-range model with a 42.2-kWh battery delivering up to 317 kilometres, and a long-range version with a 61-kWh battery offering up to 448 kilometres (WLTP). Both batteries support fast charging, reaching 10 to 80% in just 29–30 minutes. AC charging is available at 11 kW or 22 kW, allowing full recharge in as little as 2 hours and 35 minutes for the long-range model.
Advanced Technology and Safety
Kia has equipped the EV2 with a wide array of safety and driver assistance systems. The interior boasts a wraparound crash pad seamlessly integrating a 12.3-inch cluster, a 5-inch climate panel, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Additional features include ambient cabin lighting, physical controls, a premium Harman/Kardon audio system, Digital Key 2, and wireless OTA updates, ensuring both comfort and connectivity.
Production and Availability
Kia has announced that production of the standard-range EV2 will begin in the first quarter of this year, followed by the long-range and GT Line variants later in 2026. Exact market launch dates will be revealed closer to the start of sales.
With the Kia EV2, the brand takes a significant step in delivering compact, capable, and innovative electric vehicles to urban drivers, setting a new benchmark for small electric SUVs.
