Flagship Project: IONIQ Forest in Pune

The most ambitious project among the CSR initiatives is the IONIQ Forest, a large-scale afforestation programme at Dange Chowk in Pune. With an investment of ₹32 crore, the project aims to plant 1 million native trees across 90.5 acres using the Miyawaki technique, one of the most effective methods of forest restoration. Once completed, this will become one of Maharashtra’s largest afforestation zones, significantly contributing to the state’s green cover and ecological balance.

Road Safety Through Easy Roads Initiative

Road safety has also been prioritized under Hyundai’s Easy Roads Initiative, with an investment of ₹4 crore. The initiative includes setting up Traffic Engineering and Organizational Development Centers in Nagpur and Pune, designed to strengthen traffic management and promote safe driving practices. This project will also support the Nagpur Traffic Police’s campaign, ‘My Road, My Friend’, aimed at building awareness and responsibility among road users.

Empowering Communities with Adhikaar Connect

To address gaps in welfare access, Hyundai has launched the Adhikaar Connect Programme in Nashik and Talegaon. This initiative will help rural communities with documentation and application processes for public welfare schemes while promoting digital and financial literacy. The programme ensures that underprivileged groups are not left behind in accessing government benefits.

Expanding Ongoing Nationwide Programmes in Maharashtra

Alongside these new projects, Hyundai will deepen the impact of its ongoing pan-India CSR initiatives in Maharashtra. These include:

  • Sparsh Sanjeevani Telemedicine Clinics & Mobile Medical Units to enhance rural healthcare access.
  • Hope for Cancer programme provides awareness, diagnosis, and treatment support.
  • Sports Lab, a Center of Excellence to nurture grassroots sporting talent.
  • Art for Hope, offering financial grants to promote Indian art and culture.
  • Drive4Progress provides driver training and automotive skill development.
