Hero MotoCorp has unveiled a refreshed identity for its electric mobility brand, VIDA, introducing the new ‘VOOM’ branding as it prepares for the next phase of its electric vehicle journey. The move reflects the company’s transition from offering a single premium electric scooter to building a complete electric mobility ecosystem with multiple vehicle categories and higher production capacity. Hero MotoCorp refreshes VIDA with a new ‘VOOM’ identity to signal a strategic shift beyond premium electric scooters.

Since its launch in 2022, VIDA has steadily strengthened its presence in India’s growing EV market. With the latest rebranding, the company aims to establish a stronger global identity while aligning itself with the rapidly evolving electric mobility landscape.

The refreshed identity was unveiled on July 1, coinciding with the 103rd birth anniversary of Hero MotoCorp Chairman Emeritus Dr. Brijmohan Lal Munjal. According to the company, the timing represents the beginning of VIDA’s next growth chapter as India’s EV market reaches greater maturity.

From Hero’s legacy to a futuristic mobility platform

One of the biggest highlights of the rebranding is the redesigned visual identity. The previous branding, inspired by Hero MotoCorp’s traditional “H” heritage, has now evolved into a sharp and modern “V” symbol that represents innovation, speed, and the future of electric mobility.

More importantly, the company is repositioning VIDA from a single-product electric scooter brand into a comprehensive mobility platform. The new architecture will support multiple electric vehicle categories, including affordable scooters, off-road vehicles, dual-purpose motorcycles, and future concept models.

The new ‘VOOM’ identity, once associated with VIDA’s scooter anthem “Vida Vaka Voom,” now becomes the central design philosophy for the brand’s future products and customer experience.

Focus shifts toward affordable electric mobility

While VIDA initially entered the market with premium electric scooters such as the VIDA V1 Pro, the company’s strategy has now shifted toward mass-market adoption.

Hero MotoCorp refreshes VIDA with a new ‘VOOM’ identity as part of its plan to capture the rapidly growing sub-₹1 lakh electric scooter segment. The company is preparing to launch new fixed-battery electric scooters designed to make EV ownership more affordable for Indian consumers.

Alongside these scooters, Hero MotoCorp is also working on expanding its portfolio with the upcoming Lynx electric trial bike and the Vida Ubex dual-purpose motorcycle range, further strengthening its presence across different riding segments.

Production capacity set for major expansion

To support its expanding product lineup, Hero MotoCorp is significantly increasing its manufacturing capabilities. Backed by an investment plan worth approximately ₹1,500 crore, the company aims to scale annual EV production capacity from around 1.48 lakh units to 2.8 lakh units by FY2027.

This production expansion is expected to help Hero meet increasing customer demand while supporting its long-term objective of accelerating electric mobility adoption across India.

Leadership sees a mature EV market

Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer of Hero MotoCorp’s Emerging Business Unit, said the refreshed identity reflects both the evolution of VIDA and the changing expectations of Indian EV buyers.

She noted that the electric vehicle market has matured significantly since VIDA’s launch, and consumers are now looking for brands with stronger global appeal and broader product offerings. With the company’s ambitions expanding well beyond scooters, 2026 was considered the right time to introduce a new identity that better represents VIDA’s future direction.

As Hero MotoCorp refreshes VIDA with a new ‘VOOM’ identity, the company is positioning itself to become a leading force in India’s evolving electric mobility ecosystem through affordable products, expanded manufacturing, and a diversified EV portfolio.
