In a significant step toward supporting Australia’s growing electric vehicle (EV) market, 7-Eleven & EnergyAustralia have announced a partnership to install 10 ultra-fast EV charging stations across Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. The initiative aims to make public charging more accessible and convenient by placing chargers at popular convenience store locations that Australians already visit regularly.
The first charging station is already operational in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, marking the beginning of a nationwide rollout that will be completed over the next 24 months.

High-Speed Charging for Modern EV Drivers
Each charging location will feature either a 200kW or 400kW ultra-fast DC charger, depending on the site. These powerful chargers are designed to significantly reduce charging times, allowing compatible electric vehicles to charge from 20 percent to 80 percent battery capacity in as little as 12 to 15 minutes.
The fast-charging capability is expected to provide a practical solution for drivers who need quick top-ups during daily travel, helping to improve confidence in EV ownership.
Rollout Plan Across Three States
The first charger has been installed at 250 Bridgewater Road in Roxburgh Park, Melbourne. Two additional Victorian locations are scheduled to be completed before the end of 2026.
Under the 7-Eleven & EnergyAustralia rollout plan, a total of three sites will be established in Victoria, four in New South Wales, and three in Queensland. All 10 charging stations are expected to be operational within the next two years.
State-by-State Rollout
- Victoria: 3 sites (first site already live)
- New South Wales: 4 sites
- Queensland: 3 sites
Easy Access and Convenient Payments
Drivers will be able to use the chargers through the Chargefox mobile application or by simply tapping a credit card at the charging unit. In addition, all charging locations will be listed on PlugShare, enabling EV owners to easily find stations, check availability, and access user reviews.
Supporting Australia’s Growing EV Market
Australia’s electric vehicle sector continues to expand rapidly. More than 156,000 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles were sold nationwide in 2025, representing a 38 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Despite this growth, charging convenience and range anxiety remain key concerns for many potential EV buyers. According to EnergyAustralia, the 7-Eleven & EnergyAustralia partnership is designed to address these challenges by providing fast and reliable charging infrastructure at familiar locations.
As EV adoption accelerates, 7-Eleven & EnergyAustralia are positioning themselves at the forefront of Australia’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
