Europe’s urban mobility landscape is getting a fresh electric entrant designed for crowded streets and younger buyers. The Nissan Pixo Micro EV, unveiled as a compact A-segment model, combines retro-inspired styling, practical dimensions, and an efficient electric powertrain developed through Nissan’s partnership with Renault.
Built on the same underpinnings as the new Renault Twingo, the Pixo brings an unmistakable pixel-art theme inspired by 1980s video games. With a 27.5 kWh LFP battery, 259 km WLTP range, and standard DC fast charging, the new micro-EV targets drivers seeking an affordable, practical, and technology-rich city car for Europe.
What Is the Nissan Pixo EV?
The Nissan Pixo is a four-seat electric city car with a 27.5 kWh LFP battery, a 259 km WLTP range, an 80.4 bhp motor, and 50 kW DC fast charging. It will be produced in Slovenia, with European deliveries beginning in early 2027.
Pixel-Inspired Design Meets Urban Practicality
The Nissan Pixo Micro EV Unveiled with a distinctive cube-shaped body designed specifically for congested European cities. Measuring 3,796 mm long and 1,790 mm wide, it has a 9.9-meter turning circle for easier maneuvering.
Its exterior follows an “80s video game” design language, featuring a robot-style front bumper, pixel-inspired headlight detailing, and striking 18-inch wheels. Nissan has also hidden 23 visual Easter eggs throughout the vehicle. Special “2-3” markings reference the Japanese pronunciation of Nissan, “Ni-San.”
Wonder Purple and Gear Blue are among the launch colors, complemented by contrasting black trim.
259 Km Range and 50 kW Fast Charging
Under the skin, the Pixo focuses on efficient urban performance. Its 27.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery powers a front-mounted electric motor producing 80.4 bhp, or 60 kW.

Inside, the Pixo aims to challenge assumptions about micro-EVs. It seats four adults and gets independently sliding rear seats, allowing occupants to prioritize legroom or luggage capacity.
Boot capacity stands at 356 liters, including a 50-liter underfloor compartment for charging cables. Folding the rear seats increases total cargo capacity to 1,221 liters.
Technology also takes centre stage, with a 7-inch digital driver display and 10-inch central touchscreen featuring built-in Google connectivity and Google Gemini AI.
Production, Pricing, and European Launch
The Nissan Pixo Micro EV, unveiled as part of Nissan’s collaboration with Renault, will be manufactured alongside sister models at Renault’s facility in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
Official pricing and market pre-orders are scheduled to open in December, while customer deliveries across Europe are expected to begin in early 2027. Nissan has not confirmed an immediate launch outside Europe.
