The Porsche Cayenne EV Arrives in India on September 30, expanding the German luxury carmaker’s electric portfolio beyond the Taycan and Macan Electric. Positioned as Porsche’s flagship electric SUV, it combines supercar-level performance, long range, advanced charging technology, and premium comfort.
Price and Competition
Porsche has listed the Cayenne Electric at an ex-showroom price of ₹1.77 crore, while the performance-focused Cayenne Turbo Electric costs ₹2.27 crore. Following its launch, the SUV will compete against the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron, and Lotus Eletre in India’s luxury electric vehicle segment.
Battery, Range and Performance
The Porsche Cayenne EV Arrives In India with a 113 kWh battery, dual electric motors, and all-wheel drive across both variants. The standard Cayenne Electric generates 408hp and 835Nm, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, and delivers a claimed range of 642km.
The Cayenne Turbo Electric raises output to an extraordinary 1,156 hp and 1,150 Nm. It completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.5 seconds while offering a claimed 623km range.
Adaptive air suspension is standard, whereas rear-axle steering is optional. Its regenerative braking system can recuperate up to 600kW, with the motors handling 97 percent of braking. An optional 11kW wireless charging system is another Porsche first.
Exterior Design and Dimensions
The Porsche Cayenne EV arrives in India, retaining the familiar Cayenne profile while introducing a closed front fascia, slim HD Matrix LED headlights, active aerodynamic vents, and redesigned cooling intakes.
Gloss-black cladding, distinctive lighting, and 20- to 22-inch alloy wheels enhance its road presence. The rear features a full-width LED light bar with illuminated Porsche lettering. The Turbo adds active aerodynamic components and a body-colored skid plate.
Measuring 4,985mm long with a 3,023mm wheelbase, it is larger than the combustion Cayenne and achieves a 0.25 drag coefficient. Storage includes a 90-liter frunk and a 781-liter boot, expandable to 1,588 liters.
Cabin and Technology
The Porsche Cayenne EV Arrives In India with a curved digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen. Options include a 14.9-inch passenger screen and an augmented-reality head-up display.
Features include app support, an AI voice assistant, electric front seats, four-zone climate control, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and Bose audio. A 20-speaker Harman Kardon system is optional, while Digital Key enables smartphone or smartwatch access.
