Kia will launch new EV models in India as the automaker prepares to introduce two electrified SUVs in the second half of July 2026. The company has released a teaser confirming the arrival of one all-electric SUV and one hybrid-powered SUV. Based on earlier announcements and recent sightings, these vehicles are widely expected to be the Kia Syros EV and the Kia Sorento Hybrid. With these launches, Kia aims to strengthen its presence in India’s rapidly growing electric and hybrid vehicle market.
Kia Syros EV Expected to Be the Brand’s Most Affordable Electric SUV
The upcoming Kia Syros EV is likely to be an electric version of the recently introduced Syros SUV. Test vehicles have already been spotted on Indian roads, indicating that the launch is approaching. While the overall design is expected to remain similar to the standard model, the EV variant may feature a redesigned front fascia, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and exclusive styling elements to distinguish it from its petrol counterpart.

Inside the cabin, the Syros EV is expected to offer a premium experience with a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, wireless smartphone charging, ventilated seats, and a comprehensive suite of safety features.
Battery, Range, and Expected Pricing
Kia is to launch a new EV with battery options that are expected to be shared with the global Hyundai Inster EV. Reports suggest buyers may get a choice between 42kWh and 49kWh battery packs, delivering a claimed driving range of around 369 km on a single charge.
The expected ex-showroom price is between ₹15 lakh and ₹20 lakh, positioning the Syros EV as Kia’s most affordable electric SUV in India. It will compete with popular models such as the Tata Nexon EV, MG Windsor EV, and other compact electric SUVs.
Sorento Hybrid to Expand Kia’s Premium SUV Portfolio
The second vehicle teased is expected to be the Kia Sorento Hybrid, a premium three-row SUV already available in several international markets. The India-spec version is reportedly codenamed MQ4i and is likely to feature a 1.5-liter hybrid petrol engine. Positioned above the Seltos, the SUV is expected to offer spacious three-row seating, premium interiors, advanced infotainment, and multiple driver assistance technologies.
The Sorento Hybrid is expected to carry an estimated starting price of around ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom) and will target buyers looking for a fuel-efficient family SUV in the premium segment.
Kia Strengthens Its Electrified Strategy in India
With Kia set to launch a new EV alongside a premium hybrid SUV, the company is expanding its electrified portfolio to meet the increasing demand for cleaner mobility solutions. The Syros EV is expected to attract buyers seeking an affordable electric SUV, while the Sorento Hybrid will cater to customers looking for a spacious, technology-rich, and efficient three-row SUV. Complete specifications, features, and official pricing are expected to be announced during the launch event later this month.
