India’s EV revolution just hit a new milestone! Ola Electric has rolled out its first-ever 4680 Bharat Pack Powered EVs, taking a giant leap toward self-reliant and cutting-edge electric mobility. With the S1 Pro+ electric scooter leading the charge, this innovation promises more range, power, and safety — all made in India. Curious how this indigenous breakthrough is redefining the future of green transportation? Let’s dive into the story behind this game-changing evolution.
A Milestone in Indian EV Manufacturing
With this achievement, Ola Electric becomes India’s first automaker to design, develop, and manufacture both battery cells and packs entirely in-house. This vertical integration strengthens its position as a technology-driven energy and mobility company and sets a new benchmark for the Indian EV industry.
The 4680 Bharat Cell has been engineered to deliver superior range, performance, and safety. The battery pack has also received ARAI certification under the latest AIS-156 Amendment 4 safety standards from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), underscoring its reliability and compliance with stringent safety norms.
Performance and Specifications
The S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) offers an impressive IDC range of 320 km (in DIY mode) and is powered by a 13 kW motor that accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.1 seconds. It features four distinct riding modes—Hyper, Sport, Normal, and Eco—allowing riders to tailor performance to their needs. Safety features include dual-channel ABS and front and rear disc brakes, ensuring enhanced control and braking precision.
Design and Comfort Upgrades
Ola has also elevated rider comfort and aesthetics with design enhancements such as a two-tone seat with high-support foam, body-coloured mirrors, die-cast aluminium grab handles, and rim decals. The scooter is available in an expanded colour palette, including Passion Red, Porcelain White, Industrial Silver, Jet Black, Stellar Blue, and Midnight Blue.
Driving India’s EV Future
Speaking on this milestone, an Ola Electric spokesperson stated, “The commencement of deliveries for vehicles powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell marks a historic moment for India’s EV industry and our journey toward energy independence.”
Ola Electric continues to lead India’s EV revolution through its Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu and Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru, backed by a global R&D network spanning India, the UK, and the US. With over 4,000 experience centres nationwide, Ola is driving India closer to a sustainable, self-reliant electric future — made in India, for the world.
