SEOUL/HANOI – SOLUM, a global leader in power and display solutions, has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with i-charging, a Portugal-based electric mobility infrastructure provider, reinforcing their collaboration in next-generation electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. This move underlines SOLUM’s commitment to growth in emerging markets while driving innovation in sustainable mobility.
The SOLUM and i-charging Partnership will focus on three main areas: next-generation product development, global market expansion, and manufacturing synergies. Both companies aim to co-develop advanced EV charging solutions, leveraging i-charging’s previous adoption of SOLUM’s Power Modules for its latest chargers. These efforts reflect a shared commitment to people-centered innovation and sustainable transformation for the global mobility ecosystem.

As part of the expanded cooperation, i-charging CEO Pedro Silva and his leadership team visited SOLUM’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Vietnam. During the visit, they explored the company’s intelligent automation, stringent quality control, and scalable production capacity. These capabilities are expected to support long-term collaboration and facilitate the development of innovative products designed to meet global demand for efficient, reliable EV charging solutions.
DongKyun Ryu, EVP and Head of the ANP Solution Business Division at SOLUM, emphasized the alignment of both companies’ vision: “We share a common goal of people-centered innovation and aim to create sustainable mobility solutions.” Silva added, “At i-charging, innovation begins with people, and so do partnerships. We are delighted to connect SOLUM, i-charging, and end customers into one partnership built on trust and respect.”
The SOLUM and i-charging Partnership also highlights SOLUM’s own advancements in EV charging technology. The company is developing high-efficiency charging modules with capacities up to 50kW, featuring Over-the-Air (OTA) updates for remote maintenance and cybersecurity. These innovations position SOLUM as a key player in the rapidly growing EV infrastructure market.
Founded in 2015 as a Samsung Electro-Mechanics spin-off and publicly traded on the KOSPI exchange, SOLUM has demonstrated consistent profitability over the last twelve months. i-charging, established in 2019, brings complementary expertise in technology-driven electric mobility infrastructure. Together, the SOLUM and i-charging Partnership aims to accelerate the global adoption of sustainable e-mobility solutions.
While financial details of the expanded collaboration were not disclosed, the strategic alliance underscores both companies’ commitment to innovation, sustainable growth, and strengthening their presence in international EV markets. With this partnership, SOLUM and i-charging are set to drive the next wave of intelligent, people-centered EV charging solutions worldwide.
