RIOD Logic is expanding its presence in India’s electric vehicle charging industry with a new manufacturing facility in Kerala and a simplified digital payment system. The company has opened a charger production unit in Vengoor, Nedumbassery, while introducing technology designed to make public charging easier for drivers and charging station operators. In a market where multiple apps and payment processes can complicate EV ownership, RIOD Logic Launches EV Chargers with dynamic UPI payments to offer clearer pricing and transactions. The twin developments also strengthen the company’s manufacturing capabilities as demand grows for produced charging equipment across India and overseas markets.

What Has RIOD Logic Announced?

RIOD Logic has inaugurated a Kerala facility capable of producing approximately 2,500 AC chargers monthly and introduced session-specific UPI QR payments that show charging rates and costs upfront, with refunds for unused prepaid balances.

Kerala Plant Targets 2,500 AC Chargers Monthly

The manufacturing facility, inaugurated by RIOD director (EV charging) Kailash C S, is located in Vengoor, Nedumbassery, Kerala.

Its initial production capacity covers around 2,500 AC EV chargers per month, with power ratings ranging from 3.3 kW to 22 kW.

The plant will also:

  • Supply complete knock-down (CKD) and semi knock-down (SKD) kits to local assembly partners.
  • Serve domestic customers and export markets.
  • Support energy products and DC charger development through original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and original design manufacturer (ODM) arrangements.

This approach positions the facility as both a charger production centre and a supply hub for partners.

RIOD Logic Launches EV Chargers With App-Free UPI Payments

The company’s new payment system generates a fresh QR code for each charging session. Drivers can scan it at the charger, check the electricity unit rate and payable amount, and complete payment using any supported UPI app.

Crucially, users do not need a charging-network app, RFID card or prepaid wallet top-up. That reduces the number of steps required to access a public charger.

Drivers can also end charging early. Any unused prepaid amount is automatically refunded to their bank account, according to the company.

Faster Payment Reconciliation for Charging Hosts

RIOD Logic Launches EV Chargers with payment features designed for station hosts and motorists. Its backend matches every payment with the corresponding charging session and sends settlements directly to hosts’ bank accounts.

The company says payouts typically arrive within two days, although settlement can take up to seven days.

CEO Akhil Joy said transparent pricing helps drivers, while timely settlements are important for making public EV charging commercially viable.

Part of a Broader EV Charging Technology Push

The launch complements RIOD’s investments in custom charging management systems, its Charger360 platform, energy optimization, and secure plug-and-charge solutions.

By combining domestic charger manufacturing with accessible payments, RIOD Logic Launches EV Chargers as part of a wider effort to simplify charging operations and support expanding EV infrastructure.

For drivers, the immediate benefit is a clearer, app-free payment journey. For charging businesses, the appeal is easier reconciliation and more predictable settlement.
