India’s electric mobility ecosystem received a significant push as Kinetic Watts & Volts, the electric vehicle subsidiary of the Kinetic Group, secured approval under the Government of Maharashtra’s Electric Vehicle Policy. This approval makes the company eligible for incentives worth approximately ₹42 crore, reinforcing Maharashtra’s position as a leading hub for EV manufacturing and innovation.

₹42 Crore Incentive Approval: Key Highlights

The incentive package, announced on February 10, 2026, will be disbursed in a phased manner over 10 years. The approval is linked to an investment of nearly ₹70 crore by the Kinetic Group to strengthen manufacturing infrastructure and technological capabilities.

This milestone aligns with the company’s long-term vision of building a robust, self-reliant EV ecosystem under its Atmanirbhar manufacturing strategy.

Advanced Manufacturing Hub in Maharashtra

At the heart of this development is an 87,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar), Maharashtra. This facility serves as the production base for electric two-wheelers and supports high levels of automation, robotics-led manufacturing, and in-house battery assembly.

The flagship product qualifying for the incentive scheme is the Kinetic DX EV, which stands out with an impressive 99% localisation level, showcasing strong domestic sourcing of components.

Strategic Use of Incentives for EV Expansion

According to the company’s leadership, the incentive support will be strategically utilised to:

  • Enhance robotics-driven manufacturing processes
  • Expand in-house battery assembly operations under the Range-X platform
  • Strengthen and further localise the EV supply chain
  • Scale up electric two-wheeler production
  • Expand the nationwide dealer and service network

These initiatives will help Kinetic Watts & Volts improve operational efficiency, reduce dependency on imports, and ensure supply-chain resilience.

Maharashtra EV Policy: Enabling India’s EV Growth

The Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy offers a comprehensive incentive framework including capital-linked incentives, buyer subsidies, tax and fee exemptions, and support for EV component manufacturing across the value chain. The policy aims to position the state as a global leader in electric mobility manufacturing.

With this approval, Kinetic Watts & Volts is well-placed to accelerate its EV rollout and contribute meaningfully to India’s clean mobility transition.

A Strong Step Toward Sustainable Mobility

This approval marks a crucial growth milestone for Kinetic Watts & Volts, strengthening its manufacturing foundation while supporting Maharashtra’s vision of becoming a premier EV manufacturing destination. The move underscores how government support and private innovation can work together to shape India’s electric future.
