Ferrari opens new test track “E-Vortex” at its iconic Maranello campus, igniting excitement among auto enthusiasts worldwide. This revolutionary facility signals Ferrari’s bold entry into the electric era, designed to perfect its first-ever all-electric supercar — the Elettrica. With whispers of record-breaking performance, futuristic technology, and Ferrari’s signature passion for speed, this move marks more than just innovation — it’s the start of a new legend in motion. What secrets lie behind this state-of-the-art track, and how will it shape the future of electric supercars? Let’s dive into the electrifying details!

A New Era of Testing Precision: The E-Vortex Track

Ferrari’s E-Vortex test circuit, constructed right next to the legendary Fiorano Circuit, represents the company’s vision to refine innovation while maintaining secrecy and precision. Spanning 1,887 meters (1.17 miles), this facility has been meticulously designed to enable accurate, repeatable, and safe vehicle testing—away from public eyes and roads.

The track features a 600-meter central straight, two wide banked curves, and a series of technical bends, allowing engineers to evaluate performance under diverse driving conditions. It also includes special road surfaces to analyze noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH)—key parameters for electric vehicle comfort and durability.

A newly constructed 1,000-square-meter workshop sits alongside the circuit, supporting on-site analysis, static checks, and prototype adjustments. This closed environment ensures that Ferrari can conduct testing in total confidentiality, eliminating the risk of spy shots or early leaks.

Ferrari Elettrica: The Brand’s First Fully Electric Supercar

The E-Vortex isn’t just a new track—it’s the foundation for Ferrari’s next big leap: the Elettrica, the brand’s first-ever fully electric model. Revealed partially in October 2025, this four-door, four-seater super-EV aims to redefine electric performance with Ferrari’s signature flair.

Under its sleek, aerodynamic design, the Elettrica packs a quad-motor, all-wheel-drive system producing over 1,000 horsepower. The result? A blistering 0–100 km/h sprint in just 2.5 seconds, and a top speed of 310 km/h (192 mph).

Powered by a 122 kWh battery, it promises a range exceeding 530 km (323 miles), and supports 350 kW fast charging, ensuring both power and practicality.

True to Ferrari’s passion for sound, the Elettrica introduces an acoustic innovation—a system that amplifies real mechanical vibrations from the electric powertrain, creating a natural, instrument-like tone rather than artificial effects.

The Elettrica’s full reveal is expected in spring 2026, with interior details arriving earlier that year. Customer deliveries are planned for late 2026.

Balancing Tradition with Electrification

While Ferrari is stepping into the electric age, it’s doing so on its own terms. The automaker recently revised its electrification targets, now aiming for 20% of its lineup to be fully electric by 2030, down from 40% set in 2022.

This strategic recalibration reflects current market trends and Ferrari’s desire to preserve its iconic internal combustion engines (ICE) and hybrids as integral parts of its DNA.

Much like Lamborghini and Bentley, Ferrari acknowledges that while electric vehicles are the future, enthusiasts still crave the emotional connection of traditional engines.

Conclusion

Ferrari’s E-Vortex track and Elettrica EV represent a perfect blend of innovation and heritage. As the Prancing Horse gallops into an electric future, it remains clear that Ferrari’s focus isn’t just on adapting—but on perfecting the art of performance in every form of propulsion.
