In a groundbreaking collaboration, GAC Aion, CATL, and JD.com have launched the Aion UT Super EV—a compact electric vehicle that’s redefining affordability and technology in the EV market. Officially unveiled on November 9, 2025, this model combines innovation, cost-efficiency, and digital integration, making it a potential game-changer in China’s electric mobility sector.

An Affordable Electric Revolution

The Aion UT Super EV offers two purchase options that make electric driving accessible to a wider audience. Buyers can choose between a battery-leasing model starting at 49,900 Chinese Yuan (approximately $7,000 USD) or purchase the full vehicle with battery for 89,900 Yuan ($12,600 USD). For those opting for the leasing plan, the battery rental is priced at just 399 Yuan ($56 USD) per month—a model designed to significantly lower the upfront ownership cost.

Performance and Battery Technology

Under the hood, the Aion UT Super is powered by a CATL lithium iron phosphate battery and a 100 kW electric motor, delivering a CLTC-certified range of 500 km on a single charge. It also supports CATL’s advanced Choco-SEB battery-swapping system, allowing for a complete battery replacement in just 99 seconds—eliminating range anxiety and minimizing charging downtime.

Smart Connectivity and Interior Features

Inside, the Aion UT Super combines comfort and intelligence. It’s equipped with an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central control screen, running on GAC’s Huawei Cloud Vehicle System. The system supports AI voice large models and seamless connectivity with HarmonyOS, Apple, and Android devices. The interior design prioritizes convenience—front seats can fully recline to create a “car bed,” ideal for long journeys or rest breaks.

Exclusive Online Sales and Partnerships

The Aion UT Super will be sold exclusively on JD.com, marking a milestone in China’s digital automotive retail landscape. The partnership aligns three industry giants:

  • GAC Aion handles vehicle production and delivery.
  • CATL provides the battery systems and swap technology.
  • JD.com serves as the exclusive online sales platform.

A “National Good Car” for the Mass Market

Promoted as a “national good car”, the Aion UT Super is available in elegant shades such as Monet Purple and Champs-Élysées Beige, with customizable wraps. By merging affordability, technology, and smart distribution, this EV could redefine how China—and potentially the world—embraces sustainable mobility.
