BillionE Mobility raises $25M in a significant growth capital round, marking a major milestone for India’s electric freight transportation sector. The company, which operates as an electric Mobility-as-a-Service (eMaaS) platform, focuses on deploying electric trucks for commercial and industrial logistics. The fresh funding comes through a mix of equity and debt and reflects rising confidence in the viability of electric trucking in India.
Funding Details and Investor Confidence
The US$25 million round saw participation from ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, financial institutions, and public sector banks, including the State Bank of India. This investment follows a $10 million seed round raised earlier in 2025, highlighting sustained investor belief in the company’s business model and growth trajectory. BillionE Mobility raises $25M at a time when electric commercial vehicles are transitioning from pilot projects to large-scale deployments.
Accelerating Fleet Expansion
A major portion of the capital will be used to rapidly expand BillionE’s electric truck fleet. The company aims to scale its fleet to around 250 heavy-duty electric trucks by early 2026, with a long-term ambition of reaching 5,000 electric trucks by 2029. Additionally, more than 500 electric trucks are planned for deployment during FY 2026–27, with a pipeline of over 1,500 vehicles scheduled over the next two to three years based on customer demand and financing arrangements. Business Model and Infrastructure Support
BillionE’s eMaaS model offers an integrated solution that includes vehicles, charging, route planning, and maintenance under a single contract. Charging infrastructure is being developed by its group company, ChargeZone, which is building a high-speed EV charging network along key industrial and freight corridors across India.
Industry Use Cases and Environmental Impact
The expanded fleet will serve sectors such as cement, automotive, third-party logistics, metals, FMCG, chemicals, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, and minerals. These industries typically operate on fixed routes with high vehicle utilisation, making them ideal for electric trucking. Increased deployment is expected to significantly reduce tailpipe emissions from freight operations, aligning with India’s sustainability goals.

According to company leadership, BillionE Mobility raises $25M at a defining moment when electric trucks have achieved total cost of ownership parity with diesel on select routes, especially in the 19T and 55T categories.
