Optimus Energy Acquires EV Fast-Charging Network in a significant move that will help preserve and expand electric vehicle (EV) charging access across South Carolina. Optimus Energy Solutions (OES), a Florida-based energy infrastructure company, has acquired a network of 52 DC fast-charging stations spread across 26 locations throughout the state.

The charging network was originally developed under a Duke Energy electric transportation pilot program that was approved by the South Carolina Public Service Commission. As the pilot program reached its planned conclusion, OES stepped in to ensure the long-term operation and maintenance of this critical charging infrastructure.

52 Fast Chargers Across Key Travel Routes and Rural Areas

The acquisition includes 52 DC fast chargers strategically located along major travel corridors and in rural communities. These locations play a crucial role in supporting EV drivers who require reliable charging options while traveling across the state.

By taking ownership of the network, Optimus Energy acquires an EV Fast-Charging Network infrastructure that serves both urban and underserved rural regions. This helps maintain charging accessibility for the growing number of electric vehicle owners in South Carolina, where more than 20,000 EVs are currently registered.

Transition to ChargePoint Network Completed

To improve driver convenience, OES completed a two-week transition process that migrated all charging stations to the ChargePoint network. This integration enhances visibility, accessibility, and ease of use for EV drivers searching for available charging stations.

The company stated that it plans to own, operate, and maintain the network for decades, ensuring long-term reliability as EV adoption continues to rise throughout the Southeastern United States.

Commitment to Long-Term EV Infrastructure Growth

According to Ben Pauluhn, President of Optimus Energy Solutions, the acquisition reflects the company’s commitment to expanding and maintaining critical energy infrastructure across the United States. He emphasized that these charging stations provide essential support for EV drivers, particularly in rural areas where dependable charging infrastructure is vital.

The fact that Optimus Energy Acquires EV Fast-Charging Network assets from a completed pilot program demonstrates a long-term investment in sustainable transportation and clean energy development.

Strengthening OES Presence Across the Southeast

Headquartered in Central Florida, Optimus Energy Solutions has spent nearly a decade developing EV charging and renewable energy projects across Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Alabama, and the Carolinas. With this latest acquisition, Optimus Energy Acquires EV Fast-Charging Network resources that further strengthen its regional footprint and support the continued growth of electric mobility throughout the Southeast.
