India’s electric mobility journey received a major push as V-GREEN Partners with HPCL to significantly expand the country’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This strategic collaboration aims to make EV charging more accessible, reliable, and widespread, supporting India’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
Strategic Collaboration to Accelerate EV Adoption
V-GREEN Global Charging Station Development Company, founded by Vietnamese billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, has entered into a strategic partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). Under this agreement, V-GREEN will deploy electric vehicle charging stations at HPCL’s retail fuel outlets across multiple Indian markets. By leveraging HPCL’s vast nationwide presence, the initiative is designed to address one of the biggest challenges for EV users—range anxiety.

Leveraging HPCL’s Massive Retail Network
HPCL operates an extensive network of over 24,400 retail outlets across India, making it an ideal partner for rapid EV infrastructure deployment. Currently, HPCL already runs more than 5,300 EV charging stations under its “HP e-Charge” brand, along with over 150 battery swapping stations nationwide. With V-GREEN Partners with HPCL, this existing network will be further strengthened, offering greater convenience to EV owners and encouraging wider adoption of electric mobility.
About V-GREEN and Its Global Experience
V-GREEN is the charging infrastructure arm established by Pham Nhat Vuong, who is also the founder of VinFast, Vietnam’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer. The company operates approximately 150,000 charging ports in Vietnam and has expanded its footprint into Indonesia and the Philippines. Its mission, “For a Green Future for Everyone,” reflects its ambition to become a global pioneer in green infrastructure solutions.
Supporting VinFast’s Broader India Strategy
The collaboration is a crucial part of VinFast and V-GREEN’s long-term vision for India. As V-GREEN Partners with HPCL, the initiative complements VinFast’s plans to build a comprehensive EV ecosystem in the country, including vehicle manufacturing in Tamil Nadu, after-sales services, charging infrastructure, and battery recycling facilities. India, being the world’s third-largest automotive market, represents a key growth opportunity for both companies.
A Step Forward in India’s Energy Transition
HPCL, a Maharatna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has been actively diversifying into alternative and renewable energy solutions. By aligning with V-GREEN, HPCL reinforces its commitment to electric mobility and sustainable energy as part of its broader energy transition strategy. Ultimately, V-GREEN Partners with HPCL marks a significant milestone in strengthening India’s EV ecosystem and advancing the nation’s green mobility goals.
